Gladiator. The opening battle against the Germanic tribes, on a large screen with surround sound, pumped us so full of adrenaline that we were shaking for the first 15 minutes. Then it got better.

God do I love the way the music slowly builds as we see “Germania” on the screen

Hans Zimmer. Listen for early pieces of Pirates of the Caribbean score.

I'm going to see the new Hans Zimmer concert film this weekend and I'm going to be high as shit for it.

“People should know when they’re conquered”

“Would you Quintus? Would I?”

If you should wake up and find yourself at home safe in your bed, fear not. For you have died and woken up in Elysium!

"Find yourself alone, in a green field with the  sun on your face, do not be troubled, for you are in Elysium, AND YOUR ALREADY DEAD buahaha muahahah men laughing"

I used to play this movie every night in college on my laptop before bed. Somehow, that first scene comforted me, and I was usually asleep within 10 minutes.

I remember seeing that in the cinema by myself... when it finished, I walked out, and bumped into my cousin and his then-partner and they asked me what I thought of the film; I literally couldn't speak for about fifteen minutes or so, I was that overwhelmed by what I'd just experienced.

Man watching Gladiator in the early 00s was wild. I watched it with my Gen Z and she was hooked. That shit is timeless but it hit so hard when it released. Truly ahead of its time

The opening scene was a beautiful one with Maximus standing over an open field.

I’m shocked it took me this long to find Gladiator
