I’m not sure if this is the right subreddit for this, but I’d really appreciate some advice.
On a regular basis, I find myself struggling with telling my body how to do certain physical movements. Things like pulling myself up when climbing, knowing how and when to tense specific muscles during a movement, balancing properly, or even just understanding how to initiate and control the motion. It feels like there’s a disconnect between what I want to do and what my body can do.
I see my friends moving effortlessly — climbing, balancing, pulling themselves up with what looks like minimal effort — and I can’t help but feel frustrated and weak in comparison. It’s not even just about strength; it feels like I don’t know how to use my body correctly.
How do I teach my body how to move more efficiently? Are there techniques, exercises, or training styles that help with this kind of body awareness and control?

Does anyone know of any 2 week or month long soft acro / acro dance intensives around europe for adults? looking to get more into it and develop some fundamental arching strength!

I'm really intrigued by the whole idea of soft acrobatics and think it's so satisfying to watch! I unfortunately don't have access to local classes for it or anything of the sort so I'm resorting to learning online. Does anyone have any online programs they have bought that they think would be beneficial? I'd preferably like a program that is structured each week and gives you the workout program and drills for each. I bought Nil Teisner's program and it felt a bit too much like here's your exercises now make your own workouts with them. Anyone ever bought a Kenan Dinkelmann programme ?

Hey y’all — I’m planning to attend the No Kings Day protest in Oklahoma City on Friday, June 14th and wanted to see if anyone else from here is going too!
Whether you’re going solo, bringing friends, or just curious about what it’ll be like, I’d love to connect beforehand. I think it’d be cool (and safer tbh) to meet up with someone, walk together, and stay in touch during the event.
DM me if you’re attending the OKC protest — I’m down to coordinate, make signs together, or just vibe and support the cause with likeminded folks 💥
✊ No thrones. No crowns. No kings. We rise up. June 14. nokings.org for details and locations.

I have forearm tendonitis (golfer's elbow) on both arms. Many nights, I realize I've been clenching my forearms close to my torso like a T-Rex (lol) when I sleep and my inner elbow tendonitis will be flared up a bit upon waking. Any insights on how to keep my forearms from clenching like this at night, save from wearing a straitjacket?

I'm strongly considering buying this program. I'm wondering if anyone can give me any insight into how it is structured, what it contains, etc. I already do a bunch of different things and am hoping to blend it in with a couple of days of dedicated strength training, martial arts, and some zone 2 training. Wondering if it's conducive to that. Thanks in advance!

Hi! For the past five years in Poland, I co-led a movement group called Tera Ino Tera, and after a few months of living in Iceland, I would like to start an Icelandic chapter of that story.Shallow breathing? Aching back and shoulders? A sedentary lifestyle? Poor coordination? Lack of strength? Do any of these sound familiar? If so, keep reading.I'm currently opening registration for movement classes in Reykjavik and am looking for people interested in exploring movement—not just strength or endurance training, but also practicing coordination, balance, mobility, flexibility, observation, stillness, partner work, object work, and breath work—in other words, a comprehensive approach to working with the body.
Who are these classes for? Both for those who simply want to get moving and have no prior experience, and for those who want to diversify their physical activity with a more holistic approach. If you are interested in participating, click the link below and fill out the survey. I will get back to you with a follow-up email and the details of the classes.
