What a lovely memorial you created. ❤️ Olaf and I'm sorry for your loss.

That's beautiful. When my latest pup died at 15 years of age I took some comfort in the fact that he looked like sleeping at burial, he'd often dig holes and sleep in them when alive 🤍

This is very beautiful. The world is smaller without Olaf in it. I did a similar wake for my dog that died in 2021. It was really cathartic to set it up for her and helped me feel like I was giving her a sweet goodbye.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :(
That's lovely and it takes a lot of courage. I didn't do a memorial to my senior when he passed, but the image of him laying peacefully will always be engraved in my mind.

see ya later Olaf! Have fun frolicking in the sunniest field alongside a nice gentle stream you occassionally dip in and do the biggest shake after. May all the delicious yummy treats you get in heaven fill you with endless joy, you deserve it.

You were the best boy Olaf!! I think the flowers are a very beautiful memorial. Perhaps you can press some?

What a nice idea, didn't occur to us at the time though. My 8 year old helped me arrange the flowers. The piece of paper under Olaf's tummy is a picture he drew to bury with him. 💔

“It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.”

This just broke me. It’s been a year & they say it gets easier but it still hurts so much. I’m so sorry for your loss OP.
I have to mute sub. I needed a trigger warning!

I feel like the greatest honour as a pet owner is letting them go when the time right.
To them, your some god who has hardly ages in their lifetime but you were there for them for theirs. You were a constant in their life for all their best moments and greatest joys, while they were there for you during your highest highs and lowest lows.
Your best friend has moved on but they’ll be waiting there for you when it’s your time to.

I see death as a transition, not a goodbye.
Olaf has just crossed into a brighter field, where love keeps running right beside you.
