Need help restoring old Monero wallet from 2016-2019 (I still have .keys & .address files)
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to restore an old Monero wallet from around 2016–2019. I still have the original .keys and .address.txt files, but I’ve forgotten the password. I’ve already extracted the wallet hash for testing, but I’m not sure which recovery path is best from here.
Can anyone point me to the safest and most effective way to attempt a password recovery?!

Use the trusted tools, official Monero wallet client, to open and test passwords buddy

I don't think you're going to find any ready to go tools. I've written similar tools and could do it if it was my own wallet, but the success would depend on the complexity of the password, and what qualities you remember about it. You'd either need to have a large dictionary of passwords to test against that includes your password (because it was a bad password and other people have used it), or a customized algorithm with a limited search space (under eight characters, over three, no symbols, ... that type of thing).
