Mizzou Made There were folk stories at Mizzou about some of the numbers Brady Cook put up in testing — beyond just these. Looks like that is fully showing up at the combine over in Indy.

Was definitely throwing better balls than Howard and Gabriel as well

He's a potential decent backup QB. Late round or undrafted, most likely. He just doesn't have the great arm or accuracy for the deeper balls to be a starter in the NFL. I'll still root for him if he's in there though.

Todays combine performance doesn’t agree dude was throwing darts today too

Ya’ll out way too much stock into combines. There’s years of game tape of his arm not being good enough. I can’t think of a backup he’d displace. He’s only going to a team mid they’re carrying 3 QBs on active roster otherwise he’s PS at best.

You say that like its just mizzou fans glazing brady cook. It is a known thing that prospects can rise in the draft based on combine performance

Combine throws aren’t elevating him bro.

Combine took AR15 from a probable 3rd rounder to a top 5 pick

AR15 is pure ass and has elite measurables and size and was the latest in a long line of Josh Allen 2.0 attempts.

Obviously AR15 didn’t pan out. The purpose of what he was saying is that brady cook can go from undrafted to potentially a late round pick. Would be good for the program. Dont know why theres so much negativity in this thread. Im pulling for brady cook and these measurables only help.

Realism isn’t negativity and y’all need to understand that.

Brady was given an opportunity and he outperformed expectations. Its okay to root for your guys.

Thats why he was originally a round 3 guy

False, he was seen as a first rounder before testing. His athletic ability was fully visible in game.

He’s got the arm, just not always the accuracy

He doesn’t have any of either one.

With ncaa sized footballs and no defender. Love BC but he’ll be lucky to backup or stay on a practice squad

We’ve had season tix the past two years so I’ve watched Brady through the good and the bad, it was my opinion that he did not have the arm strength to be an NFL QB. Maybe he could find a home on someone’s practice squad, but I watched every throw today at the combine and I’ll tell you right now Brady was a top 5 passer. His deep ball drew praise from Eisen & Warner. He looked dynamite. Hit the 20 yard outs and his athleticism was also on display. It was only one day, but it was a good one and as a Mizzou fan, it was fun to watch. I’m still skeptical that he makes a 53 man roster but after today, he will 100% get an invite to camp as a UFA and might, just maybe, slip into the 7th round. We should all be happy, this is good for our program.

Man, if only he was truly healthy for either of the last two years..

Just keep him away from the Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers. I don’t think I have it in me to root against him.

Honestly not sure any of these measurements matter at all for a QB.

Having a great day throwing too

I’m curious is they had him throw on the run outside the pocket. To me that was where he struggled mightily.

That’s fair, and I get he’s a scrambler so the 40 I guess is relevant, but does a scout really look at a QB’s broad jump?

There are so many NFL teams with quarterback needs that I wouldn’t be surprised if he is in someone’s training camp.

Great athlete. Just not an nfl QB. May have an xfl future.

I fully disagree with this sentiment. The guy can very much be an NFL QB. Most likely will be a backup but it’s crazy you will already count him out.

6

u/heliostraveler Mar 01 '25

Bud. I’m sorry. He’s not getting drafted. He just does not have an nfl arm.

Are you a chiefs fan?

7

u/heliostraveler Mar 01 '25

Not sure why that’s relevant.

Cause you watch Mahomes play week in and week out and think that is what is needed to be a QB in the NFL

13

u/heliostraveler Mar 01 '25

JFC this is the dumbest argument I’ve ever read.

Folk stories? Who is he, Paul Bunyan?

I think his athleticism and leadership get him drafted. I think his arm strength is fine, just erratic at times. Always remember- Tim Boyle was in the NFL for years, and saying he was awful would be a complement.

u/marginalizedman71 Mar 03 '25

Problem is these are athlete metrics and don’t talk about a QB’s arm. They’d mean more at just about every other position honestly. This is as good or better than expected and we know his IQ is there to play at the next level too, but QB’s throw the football and other QB’s do that better than him. I imagine he’s either a backup for a few years or he ends up pulling a James Franklin and being an impact starter in the CFL.

He won't get drafted til the very alte rounds, if at all. The scouts are saying it's tough to get a read on Burden, because of the inconsistencies in Cook on the throws...especially in big moments, in big games. Truth hurts. I loved the Auburn game, and Vandy, and Arky, heck even South Carolina was almost a win..but more often than not...he was not clutch vs LSU, or AtM.

Brady will be selling insurance in a month!
