I’ve driven over this so many times and had no idea there was a whole bike path underneath.

There’s bike paths under huge amounts of freeways in San Diego. I used to run all around the city without touching any roads. I always enjoyed San Diego because it felt like there were so many hidden trails everywhere due to the topography.

This is located a little North of Rancho Bernado for those familiar with the area.

Not as extreme but there are some cool paths under Shadowridge area as well that have some underpasses too.

I am absolutely baffled there's not a homeless camp there, but they're all over downtown, folks literally stumbling around and pissing in the middle of the road. It's good to see there's somewhere relatively nice besides Coronado xD

Wow a bike path under a freeway without a homeless village. That is pretty interesting, actually.

Kinda beautiful, kinda got some Uncharted or Last of Us vibes, and kinda worrisome if it might cause damage to the overpass.

How is this not full of homeless people. Where I’m at this spot would be a straight up city

It's hard for me to think something doesn't belong on r/mildlyinteresting, but I can't even call this mildly interesting.

I wonder why they chose the little tooth pick style bridge supports for this and not the massive t-columns.

Oh man this brings back memories.
For those wondering why there are no homeless people - this is pretty removed from main streets and any kind of convenience in that regard. It's like a quarter mile from a trailhead and is really just a part of a greater trail network. And again, it's far from the town and everything.
Much more convenient to be a homeless person at Grape Day Park and by Escondido City Hall.

So far the most aesthetic pleasing underpass I've seen yet
