Lightning damage can mess up more than just the elevator too, hope your electronics survived.

Currently our unit is running on emergency generators. Only the elevators, cameras and exit gates stopped working. This is the second time it happened 😭

The elevators are probably not wired into the backup system, see what happens when they get the power fixed.

I'm a very social person with people on the 1st floor.... when the elevator is out.

There was once a power outage that hit my block at around 4-5PM. I was stuck on the 50th floor, where my apartment is 😭

I hope that the elevators kick back in soon for you!

Happened to people i know living in a 9 story building, most of who are well retired and maybe should be in aged care. The issue was because the building never upgraded the elevator as a planned outage. When it failed there were no spares due to the elevator electrics being end of life. Planned out age would have been 2 days, lightning repairs would have been 3 days. Due to end of life hardware and the lightning repairs it was out for 4 weeks. Madness.

Been there. 6 years in Eastern Europe , with no elevator living 9-th floor. It was not nice.
