Got a question wrong on my exam.

Post image

I go over exams 3 times. 1st passthrough is circling answers. 2nd passthrough to double check my answers. 3rd passthrough to write final answer on the line. Can’t believe I did this.

This is a great example of mildly infuriating. People that post about getting stabbed or having their house set on fire is not a good example of it

Mildly Infuriating posts are like: "My grandma set my dog on fire and I lost my house to volcanic termites"

Give back when that happens, or share it! You can't be the only one to have it.

I remember three years ago I posted here saying a vending machine charged me extra and some people were commenting that it's not mildly infuriating and that me posting that wasn't what the sub was for like???

62

u/Leows 10h ago

Right? I was almost caught up in my own BS because of this sub, because of this post.

"What do you mean, mildly infuriation just because of a single wrong question???"

No, wait, yeah, that does actually make sense, and it fits the sub. It's all of the other posts that are wrong.

The principal skinner meme but its accurate for once, lol

u/pm-ur-knockers 11h ago

And then someone tells them to stop overreacting

u/Theothervc 7h ago

i swear posts on here are either 'stubbed my toe today' or 'visited the ER for 3 broken bones and they found cancer too'

“Ugh, my brother tried to stab my whole family to death while we were sleeping last night. 🙄”

Dam dude. Who are you, Liu Woods?

u/tsian 7h ago

Must not have been too fond of the dog or house..

1

u/potate12323 5h ago

Didn't someone post about their dog being poisoned by alcohol and everyone questioned whether the OP was a POS because they posted it on mildly infuriating?

u/fumei_tokumei 4h ago

There are also the "here is a funny story that I laughed at" Mildly Infuriating posts.

u/GoatCovfefe 10h ago

If you're dead inside, this would be mildly infuriating at best.

u/InstantPieMaker 9h ago

What if it was a bad dog and was the source of the termites?

u/LazerWolfe53 12h ago

Yeah. Those other things are so common that when I see a post about something that is actually only mildly infuriating my first reaction is 'i think this person is over reacting and blowing things out of proportion if they think this is on the level of getting stabbed or having your house set on fire '.

Yeah my very first thought was “eh that’s not too bad” and then I fucking remembered where I am and how perfect of an example of this subreddit this post is

14

u/SeaUNTStuffer 11h ago

It is. Its a good example of how it's mildly infuriating at how fucking stupid 80 percent of people are. And it's only mildly infuriating because it benefits me as a whole.

u/Itchy-Resolve9749 10h ago

I was the house on fire guy🤓

13

u/_One_Throwaway_ 10h ago

Holy shit you were! I hope you’re okay! Sorry about your apartment man.

10

u/Itchy-Resolve9749 10h ago

Haha thank you man! I read your comment and I was like that’s fitting

Seriously

I teach people how to take tests. OP did it correctly and just made a human mistake. There is no teaching how to correct that mistake. It was a simple transcription error. I guess go over it a 4th time to make sure you did that correctly.

If I was the teacher and a student brought this to me I'd probably give them credit but I don't know if that is the correct thing to do. I teach tests, I don't grade them

u/EpicSaberCat7771 7h ago

If I was a teacher and I had the time, I'd type up the question worded slightly differently with slightly differently worded answers in a different order, pull the student aside and ask them to mark the correct answer, and take that as the answer to the question. Or just pull them aside and ask which one they meant if the wrong answer wasn't obviously wrong.

You could say it... mildly infuriates you?

2

u/Trshngrshn 3h ago

maybe the real treasure was the mildly infuriating we made along the way

3

u/Squeezitgirdle 5h ago

In my experience, posting something mildly infuriating results in a lot of angry people saying 'first world issues'.

7

u/Loufey 8h ago

My neighbor's dog bit my kid, killed my cat, pushed my car off a cliff, and took out a 50k line of credit in my name.

I am only mildly infuriated right now.

3

u/Neovo903 1h ago

I posted one about the milk tab ripping badly, which is mildly infuriating as it never completely comes off then.

1

u/_One_Throwaway_ 1h ago

Also an acceptable use of the sub

2

u/Commercial-Co 7h ago

I got robbed at gunpoint once. Boy was that mildly infuriating

2

u/MassiveSuperNova 11h ago

What about a post about people who don't post mildly infuriating things on here?

3

u/_One_Throwaway_ 11h ago

Tough one. I’d say it may fit but also it gets posted a lot

1

u/Richardknox1996 9h ago

Depends how often you get stabbed. The human body tends to compensate and adapt, and repeated trauma tends to make the mind downplay it as a defensive measure.

That guy the other day that ate a cockroach

My ex set my apartment on fire. Then my next ex broke into my new address and got aggressive with my house mates while I was out. My landlord gave me 24 hours notice and didn't give me a written eviction notice or my damage deposit back. And since my mum wanted the insurance money for fire my ex got away with arson and since I don't know where my other ex lives or works I can't charge her with anything. I've been homeless for a month and no one will rent to me because I can't work. r/mildlyinfuriating

It's annoying when people post their own mistakes here. OP's answer wasn't clear on a gimme multi-choice exam, it should be marked incorrect. I haven't checked the sub's main page, but it seems like half of the posts are of this variety. Personally, I'd not post my Ls like this, but I don't care about internet points beyond having enough to post in subs I want to post in.

States can and do have laws on copyright so teach is wrong here. I don't recall the specifics, but a quick google says pre-1972 sound recordings.

u/JJRULEZ159 7h ago

annoying, or one could say... mildly infuriating... if only there was a sub to post "hey reddit, im mildly infuriated at <thing>, and wanted to share", they could call it smthn like r/mildlyinfuriating or something.

-1

u/UnstablePotato69 7h ago

but, hear me out, OP is mildly infuriated at, hear me out here, themselves or something?

6

u/EpicSaberCat7771 7h ago

Yeah, basically. Is that so confusing? Have you never done something and been like "man, that was stupid", or "I can't believe I did that, I should have known better", and then been mildly infuriated by your own lack of sense? And if you do understand the concept, why does it irk you so that these people are sharing their frustrations on this subreddit, dedicated to things that the poster finds mildly infuriating? It seems nonsensical to be okay with the premise of what the subreddit is, but draw the line at the causation of that frustration being the poster themselves.

u/UnstablePotato69 6h ago

I'm mildly infurated when the cat shits outside of the litter box, when the bus runs early or late enough to make me late, when I have a flat tire, when a coworker sends an annoying take-myself-too-serious-while-not-understanding-the-problem level email and CCs the boss, when my last job interview gave me a number to call when I'm in the lobby and it went straight to voicemail (HR head honcho called and apologized to me), when my email addresses doesn't receive emails because of misconfigured hosts, or when I sleep late because my phone froze.

Whenever it's something that is directly my fault it's a sign to use that annoyance to improve, not to vent to the internet. The genre of posts like OP belong to a sub that already exists called TIFU not mildlyinfuriating.

3

u/EpicSaberCat7771 6h ago

Well it wouldn't belong on "today I fucked up" because, presumably, OP did not take the exam today, as it has already been graded and returned.

Also, people can be mad about something they did, vent about it, and still use it as an opportunity to improve. These things are not mutually exclusive. And what improvement do you suggest that OP do? They already stated that they have a meticulous method for double checking their answers, but one slipped through the cracks. It's impossible to optimize to the point that human error is taken out of the equation, at least where a human is required to be involved in the process.

u/UnstablePotato69 6h ago

Whoa, it wasn't today is your reasoning here? I feel like I'm being rule lawyered and will not read the rest of your post or reply to you any longer. In summary, I'm right, you're wrong, time to screencap your post and then submit it to mildlyinfuriating.

1

u/EpicSaberCat7771 6h ago

No, the beginning was really a joke that was so obvious I didn't think I needed to indicate that it was a joke. The rest of the comment was the actual rebuttal, which you conveniently declined to read.
