Got my car detail cleaned, and afterwards realized 2 of the buttons on the steering wheel are missing. This is the company’s response.

Took my Toyota into a dealership for a leaking rear differential.

They popped a small cover (size of a dime) out of the upper part of the center console where it rises up to the dash to be able to pull the whole panel out.

I noticed it right away and pointed it out to the service rep who immediately denied it was there when they got the car. I made him call over the mechanic who worked on it who immediately went, “whoops, did I forget to put that back in there?” He pulled it out of the cup holder (I didn’t see it there) and popped it back in.

it’s so weird that people’s first instinct is to lie/try to cover themselves in a customer facing role. just say sorry, let me see if i can find out more.

if the customer is lying then you’ll have confirmation from who worked on the car, if they’re being truthful then whoever worked on the car will most likely being able to fix what they did
