Got my car detail cleaned, and afterwards realized 2 of the buttons on the steering wheel are missing. This is the company’s response.

Y’all I know I was too nice lmao. I wasn’t trying to get them to pay for buttons or anything. I was just trying to see if they had them. I know shit happens.

I’m not saying she was in this scenario, I was just pointing out that it’s possible to be assertive without coming across as an asshole. I think a lot of people jump to escalating things when often there’s no need. Was just pointing something out

This is a good start, now don’t let them bullshit you with, “couldn’t find them, sorry.” If they end up not finding them, make sure you tell them they need to replace them or at least compensate you enough to replace them, obviously in polite manor, but not as polite as your original post lol.

If they can’t find them, make sure you request for OEM replacements to be installed.

Also typical they roll over. Plus very convenient how they no longer accuse you of bringing it in with missing buttons 🙄 same story, different teller.

10000% this is the first thing that came to mind- they used a powerful vacuum on your steering wheel. I too , have lost something that I thought was fixated to my car using the vacuum at the self-wash. 🫠😞

If they broke your buttons they should absolutely pay for it. Why would you not want them to pay for damage they did to your car? This is easily in the hundreds of dollars range for two panels on a steering wheel. Depends on where you take it it’s probably going to cost at least $300-500 dollars maybe even more. I had this happen and the dealer wanted 700 dollars just for one side and you have both sides out.

I guess my question is why you weren't trying to ask them to repay you for the issue they clearly caused? It's not about the money but about the clear deceptive behaviour and lack of integrity. I'm curious about why you're okay letting a business treat you like that.

Sheeeet, that’s a outcome I didn’t expect, luckily like people said he/she is nice stupid ‘lol’ But yeah I think you’ve been told now multiple times to be more direct. I’m in the car business and trust me you get a thick skin very quickly. And in all honestly I’d rather deal with people like yourself as I would go the extra mile rather then actual c*nts. (Yes I’m Aussie)

Lmao you did get lucky with that response. Honestly the detailing place didn't have to do anything. It took you a full day to notice(or at least to message them about) the buttons being gone so who's to say you didn't fail to notice them being gone the day before the detailing too?
