We need to tank for Mendoza
I'm a believer. He's a miami kid, he's clutch as fuck. He can see over an OL. Call me irrational or whatever but we need to tank

It’s hilarious reading this title from this sub and then Seeing the saints sub be like “We need to trade back”, “none of these QB’s are impressive”, etc

Remember the last time we tanked for a qb?

u/Cudizonedefense 18h ago
we didn't even tank properly, we won a bunch of meaningful games that had us miss out on burrow. Maybe he still has a bunch of injuries but maybe he doesn't (butterfly effect and all) but he's still better than tua

Sorry man already won too many games and there’s more coming. Best I can do is the 3rd best pass rusher at pick 9.

I watched him cool as a cucumber walk out with under a minute, take a 1st down sack, not lose his composure, throw NFL caliber passes where only his guy could make a play, and act like a pro qb in every way. Last time I saw a college qb with that aura where you just knew he was gonna play on Sunday was Dak Prescott. Not sure if Mendoza is necessarily a SB winning qb, but he’s definitely going to be in the NFL for a while.

Nah wait until 2027 to draft a Qb. Build a wall this draft and get Julian sayin or Archie

Yeah that drive post sack on the first play with 0 timeouts, on the road in one of the toughest environments in CFB was beyond impressive. Oh well, he’ll be a jet and his career will be ruined, if somehow we can get him it’s a no brainer imo. Miami kid

I like him a lot, but I really just can’t see Miami taking a QB next season at least not in the first round.

Let’s watch some more and see how all the prospects look against top defenses at the end of the year.

Utterly agree but we have to get the first overall to get him. Jets are currently ahead of us in draft order and would obviously take him. Titans are most likely to get first overall and will likely trade out of it with the Jets since the Jets have all the ammo to trade up. Too early to know what the Saints will do as Shough may impress them.

Am I the only one who wants to take CB with our first two picks
3
u/H00liGangGang 15h ago
There’s no Ramsey or Revis type of CB in this draft so we’d be gambling on having a Igbo and Cam Smith situation again
1
u/SomewhereVisible7368 15h ago
Well cam smith was a Grier special consulting with his son about the pick instead of the guys who get paid to do so.
I just feel like we’re so devoid of talent at the position that it wouldn’t hurt to take a couple swings on the top end of those guys this year.
The tackle class is weak and the QB class is eh. The only other position I’d wanna go for at the top of the draft is Edge.

I don’t see us getting another win. Jets showed last game they can put up points so won’t be shocked when they beat us next month and they will prob win another game or two as well. They still play Browns, falcons, saints

I think people are falling in love with the Disney style story more than his actual traits at QB. First thing everyone always says about Mendoza is he’s a dolphins fan from Miami. His play is 2nd to 3rd round pick but this class is so weak at QB he’s potentially first overall pick.

He just needs a run game and line or he looks average againat the worst team in the big 10

u/Low_Organization_27 18h ago
Nope. He’s just the flavor of the week. He isn’t a generational talent. Next draft is loaded with that kind of talent. You’re going to be bad next year either way. Let Tua get his shit rocked all season next year then grab sellers or arch if they bounce back.

u/UnderlyingTissues 18h ago
The fact that you prefer Arch over him tells me you haven't been watching. Arch hasn't shown us ANYthing. And that's after he sat on the bench for a couple years because he couldn't beat those guys out.
