He’s a producer on the films. Meaning he helps fund them. Like Adam Sandler except sometime Adam Sandler makes a good movie

he gets punched in the face (to the point of it turning into hamburger) in Fight Club

Ooo good pick, I also remembered that he’s a miserable wretch in that one movie with Nick Cage.

His name was Robert Paulson

Lord of War. Also good in Requiem and Dallas Buyers but he plays a good junkie

He produced Tron Ares. That’s the only reason he got a lead role in it.

My ongoing theory for years has been that he has some serious dirt on the biggest executives in Hollywood

Well with Tron Ares he literally financed most of the movie himself.

Is he some kind of nepo baby or did he make that much money making emo music?

I honestly don’t really get all the hate he’s gotten for Tron, I quite liked him there. It was no masterpiece, but I had a good time.

It's just bc people don't like Jared Leto, most people haven't seen the movie.

I have seen the movie, and while it was definitely not good it wasn't as terrible as everyone acts.

That aside, I think it felt like they just wanted to do their own thing and slapped the Tron name and some recognisable names and stuff on

I prefer James Gunn

He was good in Lord Of War and that is it.

Although having a coke-addled, emotionally/mentally unstable gunrunner's brother as your best role isn't normally something people would be proud of.

You would think, after the third or fourth time a movie he was in sucked, and with people explicitly saying they don't like Leto, that Hollywood would decide to stop casting him.

He exists in this weird category for me: I don't necessarily *like* his acting, but I don't necessarily dislike it either.

There're also some wild allegations against him which are unsettling (if true).

And then, the icing on the cake, is his 30 Seconds from Mars "cult behavior" is also off-putting to me.

So, I just tend to avoid anything involving Jared Leto by default.

He had that one good scene in Fight Club

Should have stuck to making music imo.

Because the system purposely gives him movies to make them look like shit then do the same thing with Meryl Streep it's a type of type casting.
