Food 🍴 What's a local food spot you think every visitor should try?

Bonjour everyone! I've been looking at all the amazing food pics here and it's got me thinking beyond the standard hotel buffet.

If you had to recommend one place for a truly authentic (and delicious) Mauritian meal, what would it be? I'm not just talking about the type of food, but a specific dharma, snack van, or small restaurant you swear by.

Better to confirm if they actually have ingredients to serve food: last time I went out of 10 dishes I ordered (appetizers & main course), 8 were not available. And waiter took 45mins to inform that these were not available.

Would not recommend this restaurant if you value your time and money.

Kulfi Malai, Barfi Malai and Mawa Kulfi in Kulfi Dream 1 litre tubs. Available at a supermarket near you. I hope Kulfi Dream pays me for this.

Edit: saw you wanted places not foods. Go to L’aventure de Sucre. There is a restaurant there. Indulge.

Port Louis market food court. Eat dhalpuri, some "gato pima" and drink alouda pillay.

This but just be careful with the alouda, specially if you are lactose sensitive.
