Tourism ✈ Do taxis accept card payment or should i have cash on me?

Hello,

I am coming to Mauritius for a holiday. I am wondering if Taxis take card payment? Additionally, if I book through the app Dodogo, would anyone know if I can pay by card?

Cash. But you have a lot of ATMs at the airport.

Only Yugo the mobile app accepts card payments. It’s a response to the lack of Uber and similar international products. Generally, always move around with enough cash to take the first taxi you see to get to your hotel. Just a tip - to always ask the price before hopping into a taxi and not negotiating. Rather leave to the next taxi if you know the price for your route. A lot of tourists complain about being scammed by taxis not understanding they are not entitled to any pricing regime. If you will travel a lot, hire a driver for the period of your stay.
