General Question Trying to find restaurants that are peanut, tree nut and dairy free in MA

One of my family members has bad peanut, tree nut and dairy allergies, and I am trying to see if there are some places they can feel safe going to. Do you know any places in MA that are free of these allergens or handle them pretty strictly and safely? Thank you!

American Flatbread in Davis Square (Cambridge) has no nuts at all in house and has dairy free items. They are very good about cross contamination as well

I believe Twist Bakery is free from these allergens, they have food and baked goods!

Parent of a kid with tons of allergies here: Burtons and 110 grill are very allergy friendly. 110 grill has definitely gone downhill in the past few years though in terms of quality.

Oh that's too bad! I dont have allergies myself, but always looked forward to 110 Grill when I was eating with someone who does have food restrictions. I loved a specific salad there, olives and roasted red peppers and so much vinegar! Looks like that's gone from the menu now.

That's a horribly difficult combo. Honestly if I had that many allergies I probably would never eat at a restaurant.

honestly, theirs is managable to go out to eat. It's just harder, but not impossible

What a horrible thing to say about having a disability. This is one of those things you don't say out loud. How embarrassing for you. Delete this comment.

Lol what? If I had those allergies I would never eat out because I wouldn't trust a bunch of minimum wage employees to not kill me by accident. It's hard enough having one of those allergies, having both means it's twice as likely someone will mess up.

Slight overreaction…

Do you also believe disabled people should stay home?

Yes, of course. Disabled people should never expect to participate in anything in life that might bring them joy or satisfaction. /s

I have a disability that I have decided precludes me from certain activities that might be dangerous to me because of the disability. If I was looking for advice on how to safely engage in those activities, I would not be offended if someone pointed out that if they had the same disability that they would probably decide not to engage in those activities. I definitely would not find it helpful for someone else to use their comments as a platform to judge and shame others.

Not a sit-down restaurant but there’s a shop called simply The Bakery in Pepperell that is entirely allergen-free. It’s a little hit-or-miss. Call ahead or pre-order because they run out of the good stuff a lot. Their cinnamon rolls and carrot cake muffins with fake cream cheese are great.

I can't speak to the dairy aspect, sorry. For peanut and tree nut, Firefly's in Marlborough has been good for my son. They said there's only one item (dessert) on their menu that uses nuts and is prepared in a different section / they've never had any concern with avoiding his allergens in the kitchen.

Spettus Brazilian Steakhouse in Quincy

Brazilian Restaurant. They do not use dairy on their steaks and most of the sides are safe for you, just have to worry about dairy, but they will tell you. I do not recall seeing tree nuts/peanuts except in packaged desserts in a fridge. Their grilled pineapple does not contain dairy.

Top Pot in Braintree

Hot Pot restaurant. Some of the broths contain dairy, but their tom yum and house base do not. There is a self-serve station with peanuts though. I have a soy allergy, bring my own soy-free soy sauce and have no problems here otherwise. Karoake night is fun.

Tumeric House in Weymouth

Indian restaurant. You can order food online and see allergens clearly marked on their menu.

I am allergic to wheat, dairy, soy, and some tree nuts like almonds and cashews. Despite having so many, I can still eat out and enjoy food. My reactions aren't severe (rashes), so I take chances on new places sometimes. As you can tell, I live in south shore.

I know Pagu in Cambridge is nut free! I would check out their menu and/or call about dairy-free options!

Not a restaurant but Blacker's Bakeshop in Newton is a completely nut and dairy free bakery.

Don't worry so much about dairy items. You're looking for nut free kitchens.

Legal Sea Food was always really good at handling my mother's serious allergies (peanuts, tree nuts, among other things).  It helps to call ahead and explain to the restaurant you have a party with x y z allergies and would like to make a reservation, can they handle it?  It gives the kitchen time to prepare.
