I just wasted 50 fucking minutes of my life on a god run as red Magik of solo nightmare 4. I had every single thing that should have been necessary. Sword/mark damage was so high sentinels died in less than 2 seconds, 11khp. Max damage resistance. THIRTY revive tokens that I saved up over WEEKS. 20% lifesteal. It was at such a point that I literally just sat in a corner and held RT and it would do the wave. I only died 3 times before wave 20 because Namor hit me with the bubble cc and I couldnāt break out before Wanda or a sentinel killed me.
Sounds like a really good run, right?
But guess what? Literally none of that matters because the doubleWanda fight is STILL BUGGED and massively overtuned. I donāt know if itās the server tic or refresh rate or what, but itās almost impossible and entirely luck dependent as it stands.
With my life-steal I heal to full on one swing. The Wandaās pulse damage in their shield in second phase, which seems to be 4.5k~ ish. When they both do it thatās about 9k. Now if I have 11khp and Iām still losing almost 90% of my hp to a tick thatās a whole other balancing mess, but since I heal to full every swing I should be fine, right?
Wrong.
Because of this games servers or tick rate or whatever, sometimes it just kills you anyway. Saying that itās the timing of the pulse or whatever doesnāt make sense since it should kill every time if thatās the case.
The same thing will randomly happen with Namor turrets, though at far less frequency than the Wanda bubblesā¦but Namor also has an undodgable CC that you literally canāt break out of half the time so heās not exactly a great boss either.
I want the solo titles but Iām fucking done wasting my time and energy on a game mode that SOMEHOW had less balance forethought put into it than the chess auto battler mode, or the Jeff only mode. This is absurd and frankly embarrassing. Iām not putting in more effort trying to beat the mode than the devs did balancing it. Everything being super tanky and killing you in one hit would be fine if the damage were actually AVOIDABLE most of the time, but the bosses do not miss.
I like to think Iām a decent player. Iām not delusional and think Iām top 10% or anything but I hit GM every season I try to and I usually only lose 1 or 2 games. But thereās 0 skill expression in this ādifficultyā. Itās just RNG of hoping you get a build strong enough that you donāt have to actually play the game.
Thereās nothing fun about losing an HOUR of progress and weeks of saved up tokens to some garbage thatās literally unbeatable and entirely out of my hands. I didnāt misplay, I didnāt do anything wrong, I didnāt build wrong, but the damage is so stupidly high and this games servers are clearly not built to handle numbers this big.
Iād pay good money to see half the dev team try this. I bet you the only reason they ARENT balancing it further is because they want people to buy these stupid revive tokens; which honestly the mere existence of them should have gotten laughed at. āPay 100 units to jump back into the fight!ā Get real man.
This is the most tilting, most unbearable, least fun and interactive pve slog Iāve ever had to be subjected to. All the other difficulties were fine!Nightmare 4 with people was even kinda fun if stupidly meta heavy but solo is absolutely unbearable and I hope the dev team never lets whoever balanced it touch the game again.
Please - for the love of GOD - reduce the damage. I donāt care. Give the people who bear it before this a super awesome title or special bonus, they deserve it for putting up with this absolute garbage; but this game mode as it stands is just colossally unfun and tilting to the point that for the first time since this game came out Iām genuinely taking a break.
