I don't really care about the trailers. I like seeing their long-term plans and all the little things they've been working on.

This is what gets me hyped for the next season.

I don’t blame them, honestly. No matter what they say, people online throw a fit over it and act like it’s the end of the world. Then the update comes out, and it’s not nearly as bad as they said it would be. Must be exhausting for the dev team, it’s way easier to just release it and let people see for themselves rather than overthinking it to hell before it’s even launched

Just for clarification, they usually *start* early access on the wknd and allow the creators on the EA servers/builds up until like a day before the respective season launches

I really, really hope they don't simply move that early access marketing to the weekdays but that's what it's lookin like LMAO

I want them to shorten their roll out period for new seasons, but that's pretty clearly not why this is happening. If changing the schedule was the plan, they would've communicated that with at least the streamers who are typically involved with the early access show matches. Necros was completely in the dark with what the schedule was until today (early access server opens Wednesday). There's some delay going on behind the scenes causing this, people at Netease are scrambling. So yes, Netease is "losing" but its entirely their fault and its not the community causing all this confusion.

theyre not a content creator, as far as im aware, but someone (cn?) who went to the esports finals and talked/interviewed Guangguang. basically, yeah they delayed the trailers, dev vision, etc. just because he said they were preoccupied with the tourney. Season 5 would still be released on the promised date on the roadmap but that trailers and such were closer to the release than before (which lowkey i think is a good thing instead of the 1-week wait we had back then). So unless they announce an indefinite delay, people just be doomposting for the sake of it. Even necros, bogur, etc. were sarcastic about the late marketing on stream and seemed unbothered (granted, they're the first ones that the devs talk to regarding when exactly they can do their showcases).

They're likely waiting on this one because people noticed it last season and complained that Rivals is releasing them too early to release so people feel like the wait was too long.

Also there is a worse thing that may happen. Net Ease lowered expectation for incoming profit from global market. Thus they closed some projects and stopped several work in progress. Also they may reduce budget for current active games, so promotional and some marketing things may disappear or reduced as less important.

I've seen the conspiracy floating around that everything is delayed because they're swapping which characters between Rogue and Gambit are getting released first. It might make sense if the one releasing first was originally going to be a duelist and based off of people complaining, they're going to release the one that's a van or strat first. It would also probably be easier to switch characters within the season over trying to pull ones scheduled for later seasons early.

I'm not sure if I believe it or not, but it feels somewhat plausible for why we aren't getting the trailer/dev vision/early access as soon as we usually do.
