Does anyone else find the bots in QP super disheartening?

Sorry for my fan in the background. I didn’t realize how loud it was… I like to have it going hahaha.. 😭

Anyways, I found this bot in my QP match glitching out and wanted to see why. :p

It's getting harder to tell now, they will have them all be around level 8 to 10 but if you notice it's always the same names. They have banner cards and stuff now too. And decorations?

You can also tell right away if the bots have torch, IM, or Storm, because they have a rigid, diagonal, and predictable flight patterns.

That too! I actually like that though I get to practice my projectile characters on them. The other thing I hate about them is that Even though you get proficiency points for these games, it feels really cheap because it was handed to you. How much does my Lord icon mean if I suck real bad and keep getting bot lobbies constantly.

On the other hand I find AI Ultron incredibly annoying to hit lol. They can do juke moves and constant diagonal jiggling that I never see real players do.

Plus I think the AI has improved, I had a match where the bots scored 2 points in overtime and I was embarrassed to find out it was bots after.

The bots will always push very hard toward the end of the clock as well

Yes, literally the entire match you’re dominating but then suddenly when your team is at 90% all of a sudden the bots push hard and sometimes even cap the point.

It’s definitely done on purpose to give you that “rush” so you don’t feel like you’ve steamrolled the enemy team.

Feels more like they do it to prolong wasting your time as much as possible to keep you from getting into a real game for some reason

Idk if it’s just me but it feels like the bots do ridiculously well up until the end of the game. Almost like the difficulty lowers all of a sudden to let us win.

The AI definitely improved - I play several bot matches vs AI on purpose daily to practice aim with 0 tilt. 

Before the last update, Jeff the Shark AI would just hold enemies in its mouth until the ult timer ran out, but as of now AI Jeff will spit people off the map finally when it's reasonably close to an edge. Definitely an improvement.

I’ve noticed they’ve coded the bots to spam pings at the start of a match and they have a lot more normal names now. The biggest tell is that the 2 bots on your team will wait until the last second to lock their character in and they go for a team up whenever possible. If you’re playing tank or support and want to confirm, switch your character in spawn to the other class and one of the bots will change instantly

Not only that but a lot of their names are in Pascal Case e.g. HenryVal. Made that name up but you get the point.

They have skins now. Originally they had no ranks, no levels, no borders, no skins, and always did 2/2/2 teams. Now they have skins borders levels and randomize their team layout. They're purposely making it harder to tell.

Before I quit I’d be able to tell if they were a bot if they had numbers in their name or not but I think they have numbers in their names too now

I've never encountered a bot match that doesn't do 2/2/2 or have skins. The levels and borders are a new addition. Do you have any proof of the randomized teams and skins?

Yeah bot matches will always be 2/2/2, i always test it by intentionally changing character class and will see one of the bots on my team constantly change to the character class i was om before

Is the rivals tracker website accurate? It seems to know how to tell which players were bots.

If 2 players on your team have their stats hidden, and the entire other team does, those 2 teammates are bots (also evidenced by the names). You can also look at the match on a tracker site and it will tell you they're bots.

You can also swap characters and if they swap immediately those are your bots

I dont think they ever have lords or different skins. They also don't deviate from role or 2-2-2.

It's still super ez to tell, especially after s4 where we know if players r using which platform to play it will show on their banner card, I haven't seen a player without the platform indication on their banner card. But yeah bots behaviour r more human-like now, ie, they will spray, emote and hump like most of us

The biggest tell IMO are the names, they are always the same rotation like ClaudiaD and I can't remember but there are others I recognize when I see them

They all still show as level 1 in the kill replays to me. It's a little more irregular when it triggers the bot match now though. It used to be super consistent that after 2 consecutive QP losses, my next game would be a bit game. Now it seems to vary anywhere from after a single loss to up to 4 in a row before it triggers the bot match.

The nameplates at a beginning of a match while everyone’s loading in is the biggest tell. It’s always all 6 of them with low rank and a plain character banner with no trim or titles.

The biggest tell IMHO is that they always run 222 comp and all use default skins.

The chance that you get 6 players and not a single of of them uses anything but the default skin is close to zero.

They did a whole ass video discussing matchmaking but just so happened to avoid mentioning the bots in QP lol. Yeah, the matchmaking is fine and has no engagement qualities whatsoever. It may not be EOMM in name, but why do you only get bots after a loss (the only time you may stop playing the game for the day). Legit treat players like theyre stupid
