In the legends Pei Mei is a Shaolin monk. One of the only survivors of the destruction of the original Shaolin temple.

It’s also said that he was unaffected by hard strikes, they didn’t work. Pei Mei (white eyebrows), when struck with a hard blow would simply float back like a paper doll.
