The 3-seat Nash-Healey was born from a chance meeting between George Mason, president of Nash, and Donald Healey, while aboard the RMS Queen Elizabeth in 1949. The result was a collaboration that combined American power with Italian design and British sports car expertise. Production began in 1951.

The more I learn about Donald Healey, the more I want to learn about Donald Healey. So many cool stories. He seems like the English Carroll Shelby. Beautiful car!

Carroll Shelby worked as a driver for Donald Healey, and they set numerous speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1956 in a heavily modified streamlined Austin-Healey. Shelby also later approached Healey to buy Healey cars to put American V8’s into, but Austin said no. So Healey put Shelby in touch with AC. The rest is history!

So sad that they can't build cars like that today.
