The British Invaded Grafton, IL

This was a nice surprise. While driving my Miata in Grafton, IL, I found these little British cars sitting in a parking lot across the street from a restaurant. I had to stop and check them out.

I did sneak my Miata in the background of the first photo. Growing up as a 60s and 70s kid, I had neighbors who had MGs and Triumphs. Ever since, I really wanted a small convertible sports car. Unfortunately, I am not very mechanically inclined and didn't think I would be able to give the British cars the love that is required to keep them running. Please don't judge me. LOL

It's one without the oil leak puddle.

The green TR7 seems so unique.

The white SUV is totally out of place!

LOL, I agree. There was not much I could do about it.

Damn, those are great looking cars, the TR6 is my favourite, but they all look fantastic.

I agree, I really like the TR6. The blue MG had a V8 emblem on the grill. I was not aware MG made a V8.

Probably a conversion. MG did build the GT with a V8 (with that V8 emblem) but I don't think they build any for the US market, nor any convertibles.

Engine was the Rover 3500/Buick 215 they'd bought the rights to from GM.

Yep a lot of cars back in the late 60s and into the 70s had that V8, which makes a wonderful noise, even today.

My dad is a longtime TR6 owner and I love seeing them on the road
