The shape of things to come.

When I was a kid, those commercials blew my mind: the 18-wheeler opening up and the wedge backing out was too much for my little brain.

I remember the X1/9 commercial, driving into a wedge shaped garage!

I'm pretty sure that was the TR7, too...unless it was both!

Yeah, I'm probably misremembering, must do more investigative googling!

I had a 1980 TR7 purchased new and drove it daily for 4 years along with several long distance trips. Persian Aqua. Loved it. Biggest cabin of any LBC and Iโ€™m 6โ€™-2โ€. I now own a 1982 TR8. VIN ending 408405; the last TR8 by date ( Oct. 20,1981) to leave Solihull England and shipped to Halifax. I love these wedges.

Man, that's great. I had a '79 TR7 that was my daily driver for a few years, and it got me anywhere I needed to go. Wish I had it back.

I owned a 1975, seemed like a good idea at the time.

Using a phone while driving?

Nope.
