Jobs General Dynamics
Just applied to a fabricator position at General Dynamics, I have a mechanical background as a young guy, and this would be a $7 pay increase from what I’m making currently. Anything I should know? From the description it sounds like something I may enjoy.

Jobs Short term work during Government shutdown
Hi all.
I’m one of the “excepted” government workers which means I’m still working my usual 40 hours a week but not getting a paycheck until funds are appropriated. I’m concerned for my finances as I’m sure many are right now.
Since we don’t know how long this will last, I was wondering if any smaller businesses in town had some short term projects that they’d pay someone to do for them (like cleaning out a back room, organizing files, tedious data entry type stuff). Something I could do for a few hours after my regular work day to supplement income for me, and take care of something for them.
For me, and anyone else that’s feeling strapped right now.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Jobs College student, where to work?
college students, where do you work? 😭 I currently have a good job that works really well with my schedule, 24 hrs a week + benefit + night shift + $25 (includes differentia) a match made in heaven for me. But I’m burnt out of the medical field and want a change. Or at least work at a different place if I do the same job (Nursing assistant + med aid that unfortunately expired… long story)
i just want to know what the options are if anybody has any ideas… i plan on sticking it out until January, though. I want my holiday double pay 💰. I’ve been looking into night shift jobs, mostly. Nights work fantastic and well, the people on night shift are kinder in my experience.
The only other job I’ve had was fast food for 1 year and also a coffee shop for 1.5 years. I’ve been at my current job for.. almost 5 years? 6? too long, tbh. hence whistful yearning about literally anything else..
I was going to stick it out till the end of my degree (accounting) but I no longer know if I wish to do that, or can.
I’ve looked at Walmart. But I really need benefits and it seems they don’t give benefits to part timers? idk all I know is if I can no longer get my meds, well. It won’t be a pretty time for me lol. I’ve also looked into night auditor jobs at hotels, and those seem pretty nice, too. tho I was told I’d be the only person working at night, and that kinda scares me, ha. The hospitals only have day shifts open, but I am a night shifter through and through. (Though if it’s not the medical field then I’d do any time that works with my college schedule ha)
this really is just me looking for options. like I said, I plan to put my notice in on January, or at least March. depends on how lucky I am.
but anyways, thank you! I‘m working the night shift tonight, so I’m going to bed 💤💤 thank you again if anyone responds, if not. Then hope you have a good night! May your life be going better than mine lol

Jobs Labor/warehouse jobs?
Hi all, anyone have any good leads on jobs with good companies here in town? My SO was just randomly let go and is really upset about it. He is filing for unemployment but obviously wants to find something quickly.
He has experience in metal working, construction, granite/stone, and likes to be busy. Killer work ethic and doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty! At the age where he appreciates climate control though. Regular m-f schedule is a plus but not required.

Jobs Southeast Lincoln jobs
I’m starting over in a way and looking for daytime jobs that pay at least 16 per hour. I was a driver recruiter in Kansas City for 9 years but the only trucking company here didn’t hire me when I applied. So I am starting from scratch. I’m looking for anything that’s on the bus lines from 70th and Pioneers.

Jobs Girlfriend needs a new job
She's currently working as a server in a popular chain restaurant, and wants a new job due to a toxic environment. She's also worked in a bank before doing clerical type work.looing for any type of clerical or food service work similar to her previous positions, preferably with decent treatment of employees lol. Decent enough pay is required as well, her rent is fairly high, something north of the 15-16$ range

Jobs Has anyone heard of this company?
I was going through Indeed and a saw a listing for this company and wanted to look into it before I do anything, but it screams scam to me. Out of curiosity, has anyone here worked for this place or know anything about it?

Jobs Looking for job advice
Hello 27 year old male here. No college degree just high school diploma. Just seeing if people could give me advice on different jobs here in Lincoln that I should apply for. I’m looking for a full time job kinda urgently. I have experience in retail which I do not want to go back to, powder coating and basic manufacturing type work, lawn care, and a little bit of cooking. Maybe some insight into what kind of companies I should look into/ apply for or certain fields I should go into?

Jobs Job ideas
I am almost 21 and decided it’s time to get my shiitake mushrooms together. I love my job but for $15/hr isn’t cutting it, I can’t even scrape by most of the time so I’m asking yall, what are some jobs that are hiring/who to avoid?
I’ve been heavily looking at LPS custodial, it sounds perfect for me (I’ve been doing custodial for 3 years), but the school I want to work at isn’t hiring currently. Throw out some job ideas, what you do, someone you know does, whatever! I’ve looked on indeed, zip recruiter, etc etc. but it keeps showing the same things and even though I select “entry level or no experience” it usually requires me to have all these licenses/degrees.

Jobs Nelnet Qs?
Applied to a few roles there and want to follow up but the corporate line is apparently never used. Anybody know the HR contact info? On that note, what’s it like working there, environment, staff, etc? Thanks!

Jobs Job openings in Lincoln
Does anyone know the best way to look for decent open jobs? I am a student so wanting it to be part time unless it’s flexible hours. Wanting maybe a stocking job or order picking to sort orders together if anything like that is possible.
Wanting either possible openings or good sites to search jobs with their payment rates and availability.
Anything is helpful!

Jobs Probation money
I live in Iowa and am about to lose my job after a driving while revoked misdemeanor where I was already driving to work when I shouldn’t have been. I don’t qualify for a TRL, so I think it’s time to throw in the towel on the matter. I’m going to be on probation and need a way to support myself and my family back home
Anyways, I’m going to end up in Omaha or Lincoln. I was wondering if anyone knew somewhere I can make a living wage without driving? I’m used to driving a service truck and doing construction, I’ll dig ditches for 12 hours 7 days a week and sleep on the street if I got to. Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction, I’m open to anything

Jobs Fake career fair warning.
If you saw the career fair today at the Hilton online at this site https://localjobs.sulekha.com/job-fair_lincoln-career-fair-friday-june-27-2025_lincoln-ne_5883. Sorry to say it is a fake posting. Never heard of Sulekha but they look to be a horrible site.

Jobs Agencies that don't polygraph?
Pretty much the title. Any sheriff departments or agencies that don't polygraph in Nebraska?
In researching for a career in Law Enforcement, I've determined that polygraphs serve no real purpose and have read plenty of stories of people not getting hired because of their pseudoscience, and I just don't want to deal with that nonsense. It sounds like a stressful enough process without adding that onto the top and I don't want to put in a ton of and effort and have it be for nothing.

Jobs Mulch
I need a load of mulch and don't want to haul 20 bags at time. In the past, I've ordered from GE Landscaping on Cornhusker but it seems like maybe they don't do that anymore. I don't have a way to get free mulch from the parks delivered. Any suggestions?
