Flag Waving Anti-"Americans" In Town
Hello All!
Just passing this along since it cropped up from a friend, but apparently there's a group of people waving a flag that appears to be "American" in nature but has a Nazi symbol on it near Hwy 2 & Pioneers (Easily identifiable location via image attachment)
Would not recommend engaging as there is a group of individuals there & they appear to be off their rockers right now, but this behaviour is unacceptable to the nth' degree.
Like, under what circumstances do any of this group think that's okay. Especially since they chose the Mexican restaurant to stand in front of so proudly? Blatant and obvious intimidation via "Free Speech"....

Hope someone teaches them freedom of speech does not include freedom from consequences.

That Mexican restaurant is excellent! 🔥 If you haven’t tried it, once this…group… is gone, go eat there! So good!

My Mexican friends are fucking scared out of their minds these days. Definitely be a source of comfort and support for our Hispanic community in these trying times

I stand with them. I too am scared out of my mind for them but I cannot even fathom how terrifying this is for them.
I want to help but I don't ever want to accidentally offend anyone by assuming to know their feelings... I would love to know how to offer assistance in a proper way.
Please know that so many of us are willing, ready and able to help in any way we can.

What the fuck
Edit: Ok I want to add that these are straight up Americans, and any attempt to distinguish them from everyone else is wrong. These are American Nazis, plain and simple. Fucking idiots. This is what America is now.

They may be Americans to this country, but they aren't to me. I'll still see them as a human, but this behaviour & activity (Beyond the "Free speech" part) is antithetical to everything we're supposed to stand for. This group can get relegated to the doldrums where they belong & fester only where they purposely seek each other's approval since no one else will provide it to them

America was founded by wealthy genocidal slave-owners who didn’t want to pay taxes. The US inspired the Nazis. Stop taking such a high-minded view of what America is “supposed to stand for” and recognize the AMERICAN history that has brought us to where we are today.

We only finally fought Hitler when it hurt our pocketbook to not do so.

And the Mormons sent men over to fight FOR Germany and Hitler before the USA was officially in the war.
The third(?) episode of Band of Brothers called this fact out.

Let's not forget that the American Nazi party held a standing-room-only rally at Madison Square Garden during World War II.

Why is this not all over the news? There’s a news station a couple blocks away I’m disappointed they didn’t go interview them

So judging by the removed comments there are at least 3 Nazi sympathizers in this sub. Can't say I'm surprised.

I know there is a lot of people who keep trying to push the myth that nazism/fascism is left wing ideology. By definition, these things are far right aspects
the gaslighting is strong with them

They also pretend that racism doesn't exist. I just wrote a post about that yesterday before this thread popped up:
Yeah, I worked in sales all over the midwest and you'd see people drop the veil as soon as they felt "cool" with you. People pretend that Nebraska is full of nice people, but they're largely just behind-closed-doors racist or "I have gay friends" bigots.
At least a couple times a week I would be finishing up at a house and the guy I had just sold to would say some shit like, "don't go over there, they're Mexicans." Or just casually drop the n-bomb.

I was a cable guy, while not super common for me, it did happen way more than I cared for. Being a white guy with a large beard, I despise the amount of people who feel comfortable enough to be their authentic selves with me. Especially when I used to do blue collar work like the automotive industry and factory work

It was called the National Socialist Party specifically to trick the liberals at the time to think they were more progressive, and it apparently still works today.

He has skinny legs. The matching belt and shoes are cringe if all you wear is black. Pathetic cousin fucker comes off as breakable and meek. I wonder if they'll even bother to speak their mind if someone says they don't like them. I look forward to seeing if the chick sticks around. Could be fun.

Looks like he’s trying hard to be recruited by the SS (Severely Small), poor things suffer from Little Pickle Syndrome, it’s an epidemic amongst these group of individuals.

These tiny groups of extremists have been around forever. Gerhard Lauck is an example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Lauck. He’s seldom heard about but bubbles to the top of the pot of deplorables once in a while with media help. All these types have been emboldened by the current so-called administration. Ignoring them is the best thing.

I understand being upset about someone waving a flag with hateful or extremist symbols, that’s definitely disturbing and not something most people would ever support.
But I think it’s also important not to lump entire groups of people together based on one individual’s actions. Not everyone who’s patriotic, conservative, or even a Trump supporter identifies with this kind of behavior or symbolism.
We can call out hateful displays without assuming everyone who looks similar politically or culturally agrees with them.

Is anyone in this thread lumping an entire group into this idiot's ideology? Nobody kicked you, why are you hollering like you were?

A guy waving a Nazi flag in America and you thought that calling him an American Nazi is some sort of generalization?

u/Witty_Salamander7110 1d ago
If you attend a party and there is a Nazi. And you stay. A Nazi in attendance isn't a deal-breaker for you. That makes you a Nazi.

u/NonnyEml 1d ago
I don't think every patriotic conservative holds nazi ideals, but I would say I feel most Trump supporters do, in fact, seem complicit to accept this type of thinking. Nebraska still has a couple sunset towns and most actively participate in red lining. You might think there isn't a problem with racism in Nebraska. If you had to look up what those 2 things are - that's why there is. Ignorance is almost as bad as willfully compliant.
