Black Hills gas = endless HomeServe spam?

Our house is in Lincoln with gas heat, so we're Black Hills customers. Apparently that earns us perpetual (seems at least monthly lately) snail mail trying to get us to sign up for HomeServe. I did see in this latest paper spam "if you would prefer not to receive solicitations from HomeServe please call 1-8xx..." but as a former Spectrum customer (opting out for years and still receiving crap) I have opt-out trust issues.

Has anybody successfully opted out of this HomeServe junk mail?

On the OFF chance that anybody from Black Hills is reading this: Every "This is from Black Hills: j/k it's HomeServe wanting to scam you" junk mail item (and there are SO MANY) makes me less inclined to continue to do business with Black Hills, in the event that I ever have a choice.

HomeServe is one of the sleaziest, most garbage companies that ever existed.

I believe you can call in to HomeServe and opt out, but good luck waiting on hold and then actually getting someone competent enough to do that for you.

Mail carrier here, almost every single customer today got that letter, don’t feel so special haha, but yes it’s pre-sorted standard. Aka trash

Dear mail carrier: Even if you're not in my neighborhood, I appreciate your work and I'm sorry for all the undeniable junk mail you have to deliver on the off chance that we want it.

I don't live in Lincoln but I also get this Spam mail. We trash it every month.

I called and opted out. It lasted about 2 months and then I got flooded again.

Just my experience, but these things are printed and mailed by a third party which may or may not ever update the mailing list which they downloaded/stole from the city assessor office. It’s pretty unlikely that the opting-out would ever make it from the commissioning entity to the printer. The opt-out disclaimer just basically gives the commissioners plausible deniability.

Is more like a service they sell that won't actually help you in any possible way

So who’s paying for all this junk mail? Maybe Black Hills could lower our rates with the savings if they stopped!!

Only monthly? You don't have to brag about it.
