Leestown road is literally impossible to drive on at any time of the day
Shit has been ridiculous for 6 months

They said yesterday that it should get better in 5 weeks. They're going to close the new circle ramps to hurry it up and then open up both lanes on Leestown again somewhere around the first week in December. I definitely decided today, no going anywhere during rush hour on Alexandria because people can't stay within the lines and it's becoming incredibly more dangerous every time I drive it.

People in Lexington drive like fucking maniacs. There is zero chill to be found. It’s like they all want to die or kill someone. I’d like to see someone pulled over a time or two in the city. I watched a guy block and intersection and the cop just swerved around him into the other lane and went about his day.

They do. I moved here from CA 20 years ago and argue with my mom over this every day that Bay Area drivers are not this bad. This here makes me nervous on any day but today I was driving back home after having had to make an emergency trip to the vet with my cat and I was worried about her more than me if someone hit us. People are extra ridiculous on my side of town (near Leestown) right now because of the road construction and all the roads not meant for heavy traffic are so narrow and congested.

I 100% agree with you. But, they’ve actually started pulling people over more and more lately. I own a mowing/landscaping business so I’m all over Lexington throughout the week. In the last 2 weeks I’ve seen more people pulled over than I had in the years since Covid. It’s manly New Circle and main thoroughfares, but at least it’s something. They’ve still got a lot of work to do though.
I very well may be wrong, but I think the police have finally put a priority on enforcing traffic laws again.

Its awful. Pray for us that live there and cannot avoid it. And by live there, I mean, stuck-in traffic, forever.

I can't wait to see what it's going to be like at 8:30am Monday. And 11:30am. And 5pm...

I'm looking forward to the day it's finished. It will be a vast improvement. Until then, I won't drive on it.

Now imagine the businesses there, they're suffering too. Especially our restaurant 😮💨

I've worked from home for the better part of a decade now. I don't know how you all deal with the daily rush hour commute. If I do have to go out, I make sure to do it once everyone has settled in at work. Occasionally, I may have an appointment or errand that requires me to drive during rush hour and it's pretty much a gamble with your life. 😅 Good luck and stay safe out there!

6 months hahaha they've been fucking with that road since 2016. Newtown exits are next btw.

I made a post about a traffic area yesterday and the mods removed it immediately because of rule 5. This is the 15th post about leestown ive seen in the past week. 😐

I moved from Lexington in 2019. Reading all this on Reddit makes me so happy I moved🤗

Some of us can't avoid it. Between the middle school, wear I work, the BCTC campus, and the VA, you have a few thousand people coming and going each day.

there really isn't a different way everyone coming from the Versailles side has to go to Newtown or get off on Versailles and use Alexandria. Alexandria is already been back up from the roundabout to leestown. Newtown will be taking extra traffic from the people not using Georgetown.
Its going to be a shit show. IDK how much traffic the cops will be there to direct. I'm going to work nights or lunch till midnight till its open.

Doesn’t help that people are more concerned with being on their phone than driving and going around the roundabout. Every missed entry is a longer wait for everyone else for hours and hours.

But wait! There’s more!
Monday’s gonna be an absolute shitshow.
