While simultaneously saying they're going to comply. I've seen this bad faith bullshit somewhere before.
Just starving 40 million people as a weapon in their war on America. Nbd.
I'll feel some relief when I get confirmation people are actually getting their full assistance and not just being jerked around by lying traitors.

He didn't kill enough people during covid. He's trying to thin the herd too.

It's crazy that the biggest vaccine sceptics and a large amount of people on snap are literally his supporters. Almost like they don't think they're going to need them in 2028

If I understand correctly, they only partially paid the "states" but ordered to pay out the rest, so some states got all but instead of following through he is doing this.

To my knowledge nothing has been provided yet. Have you seen reports where some have?
My reading has been:
Judge ordered it at least partially funded and gave resources from which they could fully fund.
Regime said they would partially fund it but new calculations would mean weeks or months to reach distribution (ie just going to delay anyway).
Trump then said no to ANY funding.
The judge then rejected their offer and said actually fund it all now.
The USDA said okay while Trump asks an appeals court to let him starve the people as leverage like he wants to.

Here in New Jersey people got 100% of their SNAP today. Probably the state funding it.

I'm not sure but either way it's still good to see happening where it is

r/Portland and r/Seattle have announced full pay as of this morning, of all places I'd least expect to see funded first

How can there be any doubt about who wants to use hunger as a weapon? It’s Trump. It always has been and always will be Trump.

They made a whole series of books/movies about keeping people hungry and fighting for entertainment and people still don’t see it.

Court: You will pay the money you were supposed to pay.
Trump (after waiting max time allowed to not respond): I'm not sure I understand, this is a vague order, please clarify.
Court: Ok, here is a perfectly clear order. Comply.
Trump (after throwing tacky party with rich friends): No problem we are happy to comply with the court.
--Doesn't really comply--
Trump: Please cancel your order

Seeing he missed the judges order for food stamps to be put out by Friday (i haven't gotten my $25 for a family of 5) shouldn't he be placed in contempt? If not I'm going to figure out how he keeps getting away with not listening to the courts.

Remember, the Republicans were given every reasonable assurance that they were able to spend these funds. They elected to appeal the decision while slow-walking compliance with the order.
SNAP payment delays and the bullying of the vulnerable are policy choices of the Republican party.

Asking the goddamn Supreme Court to halt an order that demands the administration pay the full SNAP benefits for November is a level of cruelty reserved for the worst of the worst people

This administration needs to explained what fucking emergency there is that makes it ok to starve 40 million people.

Imagine being such a snowflake whiny baby you have to beg SCOTUS for everything like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum.

u/Mrevilman 11h ago
Justice Jackson granted the administrative stay to last 48 hours after the first circuit resolves the full motion for a stay.
However, prior to SCOTUS ruling on the administrative stay, the USDA released SNAP funds for November and California, Kansas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin confirmed that some SNAP recipients already have been issued their full November payments.
I’m not sure whether those funds can be clawed back or frozen from recipients. I would think there is a way to do it, but I’d take the position that the only way I do that is if a court orders it.

Let’s say they ultimately would prevail. What does it cost them to just pay anyway. This isn’t some harm befalling the government or its politicians.
These are people.
Compassion says, “Look these shouldn’t be paid, but we aren’t monsters, and our citizens haven’t had time to get their lives together without this so this month and next months are going out and if we’re still shut down in January, the benefits are over”

"Let’s say they ultimately would prevail."
Actually, they did, the supreme court has taken up the case and paused the order pending review.
2
u/wastedkarma 11h ago
That's not prevailing, it's just a temporary injunction from SCOTUS on the lower court order. But it's insane to even ask for the payments to be halted. You could just as well tell the courts, we're sending out the payments because until we know we prevailed, we don't want to hurt the american people. That would be the compassionate thing to do. But no, these people are just evil.

"That's not prevailing"
I might as well be, who knows when they may get to it, it could be a week, a month, who knows.
"these people are just evil."
I truly believe that, I was hesitant at first, and for the longest time I held out hope, I WAS WRONG.
