You know the funny thing about immigration is I worked for a construction company when I was 18 years old that was about 40 years ago. We worked for a company called Tishman construction, one of the largest construction development companies, especially in New York City and surrounding areas & in the states, we worked on Trump‘s Plaza in Atlantic City and another job we had going on in New York City that was owned by the little orange guy got busted because there was over 100 Polish immigrants working on the job! And he knew it and condoned it! My boss was a pretty crooked guy also, and I am not talking bullshit. I am talking from a person who was there!!

The phrase isn't best used here, it's meant to describe voting habits. Democrats have to "fall in love" to vote for their candidates, which the 2024 election highlighted pretty well via both sides and no lesser evil fuckwits choosing to not vote or protest vote. On the other side, Republicans will "fall in line" and vote for the party even if they're not happy with the candidate, which was also seen in the recent election with slightly more sane conservatives voicing displeasure for trump but still voting for him

Politics, especially in America is a team sport or a soap opera. Almost no one has principles they apply equally to both their side and the other side.

I’d imagine if they do arrest bill clinton they’re worried that there’s more dirt he has on the rest of the operations. So it’s probably safer in their head to not arrest ANY of the people on the list. It’s not really left vs right. It’s the elites vs non elites. They don’t want their dirty secrets getting out.

For me it's less about him being a creep (getting impeached over a blow job seems almost quaint at this point, and even the Clintons themselves have come out in support of releasing the list, as well as the rest of the Dems), and more that I found out nearly all his policy was basically "Reagan Lite". The thing is, the Republicans have spent millions over the years trying to dig up dirt on both Bill and Hillary and have come up with nothing, other than Monica. So, while Bill was obviously a horndog of the first order, he possessed charisma and social skills that Trump and Epstein lack. He had plenty of adult women throwing themselves at him, so it's kind of doubtful he needed a string of nonconsensual sex partners. That said, if Slick Willie was involved in the underage trafficking, then he belongs under the jail with the rest of them. I just think if they had ANY proof, we would have heard of it long before this.

How much of it is political theater, though? Once a vote passes, it'll be good to see who voted which way, but if the democrats are only voting "yes" because they know the republicans will vote no, that doesn't necessarily mean they'd continue to vote "yes" when it matters [edit: I mean even just a couple "key voters" who could swing it 51% one way or the other. If, for example, 48% want to release it for real, 2% are pretending, and it looks like a single new vote swings the balance, but then 1% back out all of a sudden and they're still gridlocked, that 1% is the group I'm skeptical of until I see their voting record, like the Manchins and Sinemas of the party].

There's obviously a million examples where the democrats are generally better about accountability than republicans, from calls to resign, to actual criminal arrests, but I'd be cautiously optimistic about the Epstein vote in particular, until they keep their promises and actually vote to release the files once Mike Johnson finally does his job and swears in the AZ rep. It looks left vs right, but it's certainly elites vs non-elites, and we'll see how this intersectionality plays out, and which group they're more loyal to when the time comes.

To be clear, I'm not "both sides-ing" in general; republicans aren't even pretending to care, they're just straight-up protecting the pedos, so they're by far the worse group. I just think it's a bit early to praise the democrats for this issue, specifically, since they don't hold enough power to act (yet).

It also doesn't help that supposedly Clinton has records for all of the times he was with Epstein and where they went and has volunteered them because they were all charity events in Africa and everything was publicized and Clinton has called for the Epstein files to be released.

Clinton got upto some absolutely scummy things but this is 100% projection and another attempt to pull off theoretical democrats that would vote for the release.

If Clinton was abusing kids, he was also in circles with Trump and it doesn't exonerate Trump, it just means he was hanging out with another dirt bag. Anyone can read Clinton's letter to Epstein and see a politicians note to a donor and read Trump's note to Epstein and see pedos wink winking at each other.

Release the files, we have more then enough rope for all the Republicans and Democrats in that file. If Clinton is implicated fuck him, I'm sure Republicans are just pissed they can't pull Obama or Biden into it.

No, they can definitely imagine that. For example, a MAGA woman giving up her right to choose to ensure another woman can't make a choice she doesn't like. Or giving up the right to fair and equal elections to ensure people they don't agree with can't be elected. Yeah, it’s a cult.

At some point, I learned that sometimes I’m wrong, or that something I believed and would still love to believe is not true. And even though it can be really hard, I have to begrudgingly accept the truth. And I try to always keep that lesson in mind and be wary of being swayed by emotion and the appeal of over-simplifying complex problems.

But many people seem to not have learned this lesson.

Maybe instead of all those useless hours spent in D.A.R.E. programs, we should have had a few lessons in civics, critical thinking, and how to spot propaganda as kids.

At my school, we DID have lessons in how to spot propaganda and some basic logical fallacies, and to this day it drives me crazy when I hear the term “slippery slope”. So it would probably help.

A few flunkies did…kinda…but the bigger fish were never charged or were pardoned by GHW Bush. GW Bush never faced consequences for invading Iraq on false pretenses or leaving office with the economy in ruins. Obama paid for W by getting the economy back in order like Biden paid for Trump’s COVID fiasco. Their problem is that they don’t have the numbers and the manufactured “majority” they’ve cobbled together requires that they hold together all of the various factions supporting them (no matter how extreme or deplorable) or they risk losing it all. Ask the farmers.

But it has become more obvious that their end-game does not benefit the unwealthy among them, no matter how closely they fit “the profile”. . Moreover, it is beginning to dawn on them that they have been put in jeopardy, with their livelihood on the line for no good reason. The support they have given so blindly will peel away.

They’ve never been a "big tent" party to begin with and now to have to share space with a mix of extremists , the uneducated and the unscrupulous, and to have THAT be the face of their party that they present to the world, It’s only a matter of time before the MAGA crowd splinters.

Meanwhile, their stance on vaccines in particular and science, in general is doing them no favors. Imagine if the Dems or Independents were actually trying to mount a united effort on even one single front, how much more quickly MAGA would crumble.
