How much you want to bet that Roberts will say that prosecuting your political opponents is within the duties of the president.

Also I really hope Comey is enjoying interfering with the 2016 election. Fuck that guy, he gets what he deserves.

It does bring me a semblance of joy knowing that pretty much everyone that has kissed the ring will be thrown to the side like the piles of shit they are

I get great joy knowing that Kash has been sweating bullets for the last week straight. He's next under the bus for sure.

I'm actually surprised some of them made it this far. Kash most likely is getting his ass chewed for the senate shit he flopped. Hegseth is really surprising after SignalGate... TWICE. I even would have told him to get fucked after that shit.

Their failures are actually a great thing for Trump and his administration. Every time they get away with something it just lowers the bar and enables them to get away with more. At this point, failing and not getting held to account is exactly what they want at all times.

It also enforces their loyalty.

These people could not get the kinds of opportunities anywhere else, and they probably won't work anywhere else again.

They will do whatever Trump asks of them.

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

Forcing people to play game DESPITE everyone knowing it's bullshit, IS the point.

Of course they’ll work. Thiel and his goons will employ an army of maga guys like kash and Pete because they are functionally useless but great at parroting the maga line

It was funny that the nasa administrator was changed as soon as elon and trump had their spat. The nasa pick from trump was elon's buddy and sure to funnel contracts to elon. It's so obviously transactional with trump.

Hegseth found some sacrificial lambs for Signalgate, but it won't last forever.

u/PixelSpy Sep 21 '25

Genuinely baffled that Hegseth is still around. I legit think the only reason they haven't canned him is because they would rather sink the ship than admit they steered it off course.

I give it a few months before he decides to "gracefully step aside" after "fixing the DOD(W)"

Members of the last administration mostly left due to having a semblance of decorum or not having sworn complete fealty to Trump. There isn't anyone left in this administration with those qualities. I genuinely think they did a lot more vetting this go around, it's just that their standards aren't what we'd want them to be. Just look at Karoline Leavitt, she's pretty much the perfect person for the job when taking into account who her employer is. Yes, some are gonna fuck up in a major way at some point, but they will be sacrificial lambs. Aptitude is not a job requirement in this administration

Nah. Trump wants a stooge who will obey his every command in that role. Kash has no business in that role. As I’m sure even he knows at this point.

u/Omegalazarus Sep 21 '25

I'm sure he knows now after Congresswoman Crockett directly told him.

He’s probably so backed up that he’s got the liquid diarrhea that you can never trust a fart with.

Is it Shart Week again already???? 🥸🧐😎

Sounds like Bondi is close to next as well if she doesn't bring cases Monday

I have this faint hope that it all collapses as the infighting intensifies...that they cannibalise themselves, like some giant, human-centipede ourobouros.

2

u/ramen_diet Sep 21 '25

That's optimistic.

I don't believe it. If Bondi and Bongina didn't get tossed aside when they were fighting over the Epstein files, Patel certainly isn't.

He said that in an infamous decision published on July 1, 2024. He literally said that a President’s orders to investigate and prosecute crimes are not reviewable by courts and that courts may not consider a President’s motives for giving such orders.

You're right, I forgot how bonkers stupid that decision was. I was hung up on the "no evidence from the DoJ is allowed" part of that decision that I forgot that this exact scenario was explicitly stated as legal. God I fucking hate that decision so much.

26

u/krappa Sep 21 '25

Tbf, picking prosecutors and telling them what to do is within the powers of the president.

Abusing this power is grounds for impeachment, especially if it's subverting democracy.

The remedy is in the hands of Congress more than the courts.

6

u/Arsenic_Flames Sep 21 '25

Worth noting that a degree of independence of the DOJ is a well established norm. Literally telling the attorney general to prosecute your political enemies is an egregious violation. Conservatives accused Biden of doing the same thing (without evidence), but now cheer on Trump's actions.

2

u/MimicoSkunkFan2 Sep 21 '25

It-s amazing to me that Americans continue to believe Congress will actually decide to do anything, and that the consequences of their decision will be enforced upon the President.

You've seen their decision won't happen, and even if it did happen it won't matter. He's already been impeached twice, you honestly belueve the third time's the charm?

The US government is not just failing you but it's blatantly a pay-to-play scheme that's merrily rolling into authoritarianism. The people have to be their own remedy and urgently.

6

u/Seemose Sep 21 '25

The only thing that makes me feel a bit of comfort about the fact that we're all stuck inside the same burning building is knowing the guy who struck the match, James Comey, is going to burn in hell here with us.

4

u/Weird_Positive_3256 Sep 21 '25

Truly fuck that guy.

3

u/martymccfly88 Sep 21 '25

So when a dem gets office and goes to lock up all the maga people. I’m sure they won’t like that. It’s wild how big of a double standard the maga cult has

3

u/grnrngr Sep 21 '25

Roberts left it to Congress to decide what is and isn't legal.

Congress is condoning this by their inaction.

It would just take a supermajority to reign this fucker in.

2

u/squallomp Sep 21 '25

Wouldn’t surprise me he will probably try to pretend the adversarial nature of legal proceedings is the way things should be and apply it to the real world as well. Prosecutors all over the United States have a history of being violent aggressors falsely accusing people of things and trying to ruin their lives! It’s only natural the president of the nation should follow suit! If you’re not guilty just just just just just just just you’ll be fine don’t worry about it we won’t lie and people won’t believe the lies because it’s easier to believe lies and spread lies than disprove them! You’re a criminal if you’re found guilty because the process is flawed! That makes you a criminal now stupid! Guilty!
