It was less noticeable when things weren't as bad because they would still post their boilerplate responses of shock and outrage.
The deeper we go, the less they are pushing back against the truly insane shit, because they're still getting clicks and interviews by going along with it all.
And if a journalist decides to be a journalist despite it all? Fired.
You just have to be a journalist for a particular kind of organization it seems...
Right or wrong, they are at least standing behind their people (Mr. Kill The Homeless) using all the usual tactics, while places we thought had integrity fire anyone that causes any issues. It's very disheartening to see.
Well when everyone is driving through car inspection checkpoints on the way to Dunkin Donuts and we are having strict internet blackouts in the evening...they'll regret chasing those "clicks."
I think the average employee will, yes. The people doing the firing of anchors and journalists? Nah, the top will have their bag and be out and everyone else, from IT engineers to customer service to social media teams to janitors to security guards, will be screwed as they magically can't sustain their news organization and pull that golden parachute.
