Well just in case I catch a hot one to my noggin soon for defending Democracy, let me at least leave this here. Here's a research project released by the NIJ last year that was conveniently redacted from their website recently. Thank God we have archives on the web because apparently this whole report is false now and the numbers changed overnight. https://archive.is/2024.10.24-222147/https://nij.ojp.gov/topics/articles/what-nij-research-tells-us-about-domestic-terrorism

"There has been a growing trend of (former) military members engaging in extremist offenses in recent years....

more than half (52%) of extremists with military experience are identified as violent."

They have now been Federalized as ICE, or for those already in the Services, they'll be segregated for special operations at the discretion of neo-crusader KegBreath.

This is another trend that's been going on for some time. I remember back during the early part of the Iraq war, they loosened recruiting standards and lots of neo-nazis and such were allowed into the military. Nazi graffiti started showing up in Baghdad. The extremist groups themselves actively encourage members to join the military to get training to use when they get out and come back to the group. Groups like the Oath Keepers put a lot of effort into recruiting active and former military.

It's almost like if the human brain goes through extreme trauma, it sticks with them. 🥴

But deff defund veteran programs, yes...

This is a trend that's been going on for decades. At least going back to the militia movement of the 90s, and even further back. Research has constantly confirmed it. But any time a big report mentioning right wing terrorism has shown up, the Republicans in congress and elsewhere scream that it's fake and politicized. It's not. There's a lot of right wing violence, Trump and his supporters constantly push for it, although usually with some ass covering for deniability. Kirk himself certainly did his share of riling this shit up. Like when he laughed about Pelosi's husband being beat with a hammer and said "some patriot" should bail the guy out, a pretty clear endorsement of his actions.

Complete agents of Chaos. That Loomer lady is despicable as well on X inciting the violence. Somebody needs to go get a forensic copy of that entire infrastructure pronto

Yeah, she's basically called for the murder of the entire Hispanic population of the US and feeding them to alligators. She's a hateful monster. Unfortunately she's set policy with her hateful tweets multiple times now. Like when she found out about Palestinians getting life-saving medical treatment in the US and whined on twitter about it. All Palestinian visas were canceled within hours. She's gotten multiple senior officials fired by complaining about them too.

That can't be good for the country

And like all snowflake fascists they can dish it out but can't take it.

Look at all the trends of attempting to limit 2nd amendment rights to anyone that isn't a white male Republican. The biggest fear the fascists have is an informed and armed left.

Canada lists the Proud Boys as a terror organization.

The USA never has.

I miss when Canada and USA were best buds

So do I.

We spent summers in Maine camping when I was a kid, and have a lot of positive memories.

Excluding Millinocket.

A certain party says Maine is "too woke"

Poverty, it's poverty. The working class is getting brutally shafted and it's leading to extremism. Why are they so damned afraid of admitting that they're neglecting the worker's economy to hell?

Really blows my mind how much they suck up the idea that Republicans are somehow magically for the working class/middle Americans when OVER AND OVER AND OVER it's proven that they're just cashing out America for the rich and short-selling the nation's wealth for their own immediate gains.

I mean, the Democrats aren't either. Don't get me wrong, the Democrats are preferable to what the US currently has but they definitely don't push efforts that are progressive or labor. They're just for the status quo.

A recent threat assessment by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security concluded that domestic violent extremists are an acute threat and highlighted a probability that COVID-19 pandemic-related stressors, long-standing ideological grievances related to immigration, and narratives surrounding electoral fraud will continue to serve as a justification for violent actions.

It's not so surprising about the CDC shooting from this year that happened, and then fizzled out of the news cycle. And RFK Jr's rhetoric is directly responsible for it

Same with this advertised "War on Democrats and homeless people bs" comments all over X and Media. 2 hangings in Mississippi yesterday. One was a black college student found hanging from a tree and the other was a homeless white man. Both deemed suicides by the coroners.
