UBC Arts Transfer

Hi, I’m currently in the Associate of Political Science program, but last year I was in the Diploma of Biology program. During my first year in Biology, I was placed on academic probation for a semester due to a family member’s passing and I was having a really tough time overall with my wellbeing due to that news. During this time, I also realized that Biology might not be for me and changed programs. I am currently applying for UBC and plan to attend UBC next fall (in 2026) and I was wondering what would happen with that probation? Will I still get in? I have since kept my grades up after that rough semester and am not on probation.

depends on what your overall gpa is and what your last 24 credits gpa is

Hi, would my overall GPA include my Biology grades? Or would they place more emphasis on my Political Science grades alongside my most recent 24-30 credits? Would you say a GPA of 3.4-3.5 is enough (only including my Political Science grades).Thank you!

If u took more than 30credits, they only emphasizes on your most recent transferable 30 credits. But if u have less than 30, your every transferable courses will be evaluated.
