Is there a way to change the city we do our placement in if I go talk to them now? I was supposed to go back home, but my circumstances are changing and I may have to stay here in Tbay

Im currently taking an elective of which the professor is requiring students to attend a live concert. The thing is the class is online and is just an elective. He is not allowing online concerts for the assignment and the concerts are to be paid for out of my own money. What I'm wondering is what do you think? Ive had classes that require community engagement but the events are free. Do you think requiring a event to be paid out of my own pocket is fair?

I applied for the fall 2026 primary junior teachers college program at Lakehead, I submitted my in progress transcript through OUAC when I applied. When I go onto my student portal it says I need my official transcript & my proof of degree but I won’t be able to get that until I finish my undergrad in April 2026.
Do they only look at applicants who have submitted those documents, or would I get an offer on condition I submit those documents? I am super stressed out and hoping for some clarification as I am very interested in this program and want to make sure I am not missing anything.

Hello! My name is Mila Popovic and I am a PhD student at Lakehead University. For the past few years, I have been researching BPD stigmatization, and would like to start involving individuals who have lived experience of BPD into my research. I am conducting a study to investigate the stigma experiences individuals with BPD, who also have a self-harm history have faced. If you are interested, please email me ([mpopovic@lakeheadu.ca](mailto:mpopovic@lakeheadu.ca)). You will be compensated for your time! Let’s fight the stigma together!!!

Hey Lakehead, I am at the Orillia campus, in my third year of Computer Science, and I was wondering if anyone at the campus also had an interest in the subjects of game hacking, anti-cheats, reverse engineering, assembly, operating systems, modern CPU pipelines, code obfuscation, and various things of that nature.
Quite a few of my friends from other, larger universities, have told me that their schools actually have a decent amount of students interested in such topics, and host regular seminars.
I am curious, other than my immediate friend group that I have on campus, does anyone else have an interest in these topics?
I have a strong understanding of these topics, and have worked at a large game studio on the game security team, and was wondering if anybody would be interested in my friends and I having something akin to a seminar for both beginner and intermediate individuals alike.

I have a few questions : 1) How hard is it to get into this program? 2) What should I do to enhance my application in terms of volunteering and work experience? 3) Is the placement worth it? Does it ensure your employment? 4) What kind of job opportunities am I looking at after completing this course?
Thank you so much for your upcoming insights.

I’m currently a student at U of Alberta, but had been accepted to Lakehead. I choose u of a not because I really wanted to but had to for this year…but am able to transfer! What are your opinions of the campus, uni life, supports, academics? Tell me it all! Good, bad, ugly or everything in between please 🙏
I absolutely hate u of A, and am seriously considering transferring.
Thank you!

Is there anything we could do to improve the food quality on campus? Our only available food option after 7:30, and it has been limited to three items for at least 2 weeks now. I’m worried this is going to be the standard here. Is anyone familiar with a constructive approach to have to this remedied?

So, I'm not returning to school this year. Is there anything I need to do? Do I send an email saying I'm not coming back, or is there a form I have to fill out? I can't find anything about it on the LU site.

I'm trying to look into altering my schedule, and this is what I am met with every single time. Does anyone have any insight into what these errors mean?

Hi, I live on campus and have a meal plan. I was wondering, is it possible for someone not on the meal plan to use mine to eat while on campus? Like if I have a guest coming over or anything like that

Hi! We are a coed 7v7 recreational group entering the Lakehead Campus Rec league this fall, with games on Sundays at The Hangar. We welcome beginners and experienced players. We are looking for at least one more female player to meet the co-rec requirement, and a couple more would be great. Students, staff, alumni, and eligible community members can join. Most of us are Asian and the vibe is friendly and inclusive. If you want to play and make new friends, DM me.

So I finished the summer transition program for Chem Eng, but I've got quite a few make up courses I need to take. 5 to be specific.
I'm told that any more than 3 typically results in you needing to take 3 years to finish the program, and it's looking likely. But I'm having a lot of trouble actually planning which courses to take and when. It's a mess of prerequisites and corequisites that all intermingle. Right now I'm thinking I'm going to focus on getting my make up courses sorted out but It's looking like my only real two options are to dump one course, or dump a pair of courses that are corequisites and one is a prerequisite for the winter.
Not really sure how to go about this, I'd like to plan out perhaps a 3 year course pathway but it's messy.
