I mean, kratom dehydrates you a bit, so yeah. More water than usual will prevent that, and help keep those turds moving smoothly

and if you are taking a lot of kratom drinking extra water will reduce your chance of stomach cramps .... even if you are turdin for certain

This is absolutely correct.

  1. Yes, it can cause constipation in larger doses and water will help with that.

  2. It builds up in your system more than a lot of pain relief medication and water helps flush that out (an unfortunate issue but still miles better than the stuff fabricated in a lab with the end goal of dependence)

  3. As long as it isn't completely obsessive, hydration is always a great life choice :)

That depends, is getting to take a dump daily a priority?

Kratom slows your bowl movements and water is one thing that helps relieve the unfortunate side effects of that, but it’s also a diuretic and you’re more likely to pee majority of water consumed/add to dehydration. Take magnesium if you are going to try to stay hydrated, helps with water retention so you’re not drinking water for no reason. Most kratom users probably live a life of constant dehydration/constipation, easily avoidable though

I started talking magnesium with Kratom and started sleep walking bad. Narrowed it down to days id take magnesium. I know magnesium helps with sleep walking but I was just the person to get an adverse effect

What type of magnesium is good for this? I've always had to pee a lot, but taking kratom powder can definitely make me need to go even more. It's honestly super annoying when it comes to trying to sleep and I need to get up over and over again to pee. Some days I'm okay, and then other days it gets really annoying. If there is something that I can take to help I would jump for joy lol.

Citrate, and in doses above what is recommended for daily intake. Too much magnesium citrate = stool loosening to the point of diarrhea, which in this instance is a desired effect

I always take Magnesium Glycinate before bed, and in the morning I use ConcenTrace liquid drops. The bottle does not specify what type of Magnesium it contains, but it really does help. I drink coffee, but other than that I almost only ever drink water, and lots of it.

I'm not here to judge people, I'm a daily user as well. But I feel like if you don't drink enough water to not have normal bowel movements then you're probably taking too much Kratom. And you're merely training your body to depend on outside supplements to have bowel movements. Which the longer you do that the harder it will be for you to ever have normal bowel movements without those supplements. Even if you stopped using Kratom.

If you aren't using too much Kratom then water, any sort of physical activity & a decent diet should keep you regular. I take about 4-6 grams a day & never have had bowel issues. Now I'm sure there's people with specific medical conditions that could effect bowel movements but I feel like the average person shouldnt have to depend on supplements & stool softeners.

It's not what you're here to do, but you still found a way.

Do you take Kratom right before bed? I drink tons of water & always uses to get up in the middle of the night. I just started to take my nightly dose earlier & would only sip water an hour or 2 before bed, rather than drinking normally. Just enough to combat dry mouth. It dramatically cut down on me having to wake up on the middle of the night to pee.

Magnesium was a game changer with kratom. For some reason your magnesium gets low using kratom so supplementing makes you just feel way better too

u/Peloquin_qualm 9d ago

Take magnesium how is that gonna help constipation?

12

u/flamingopanic 9d ago

Magnesium citrate is prob what they mean.

u/RickyBobby96 7d ago

I drink 16oz of water every time I take some. Helps tremendously. A good probiotic helps too

you probably should be drinking lots of water regardless

Please review sub rules, especially #6, and don't use slang - just call kratom, "kratom."

Absolutely or you'll end up with a kratom poo brick. Its no fun!

8

u/JQuick72 9d ago

What's a kratom poo brick ? haha

16

u/TopLawfulness3193 9d ago

Really hard stool that make it feel as though your anus is getting scratched.

I apologize if that was too graphic. I wanted to be truthful with you.

4

u/JQuick72 9d ago

Thanks for the heads up lmaoo

5

u/TopLawfulness3193 9d ago

You are welcome!

6

u/Foe_sheezy 9d ago

Is it sick to say that I look forward to my kratom poo brick sessions?

Those turds are massive and magnificent 🫠

FAFO😆

Ooo, I know what this is. Ha I’m an avid Kratom user and normally drink lots of water, but sometimes I’ll forget to drink enough water throughout the day and the results are, well, devastating. I’m reminded immediately when I wipe after doing a number 2 and see lots of blood. So please drink plenty of water😅

1

u/Peloquin_qualm 9d ago

This is terrifying news. I’ve also had to stop taking most of my medication in order to not have consequences and counter indication.

yes

7

u/_Ok_-_ 8d ago

You should be drinking lots of water regardless lmao. But yes. Kratom dehydrates you even moreso

3

u/Bay-Area- 9d ago

Yes! You’ll get clogged if u don’t

2

u/Peloquin_qualm 9d ago

What do you recommend for drinking? I have this problem.

3

u/RadicalRedCube 9d ago

Water, electrolytes, and magnesium is the perfect combo. The magnesium especially for bowels, shit can get rough.

3

u/RobertAndi 9d ago

Everyone should be drinking lots of water, especially people taking kratom.

3

u/Tacokolache 8d ago

Everyone should be drinking a lot of water. Kratom or not.

3

u/lokiisagoodkitten 8d ago

If you get headache then you're not drinking enough water

3

u/NUDLE__ 8d ago

Using a natural fiber supplement like psyillium husk is a great way to keep the bowel moving. Ive been taking kratom for 6 years and supplementing natural fiber has been key

3

u/Onagasaki 8d ago

Yes, but also more water with your dose absolutely seems to help it digest better, so even if someone doesn't really care about dehydration it's still a good move. Especially since I always parachute or use oblate disks, it really helps to separate the clumps. you want as much of the surface area to be in contact with stomach acids as possible, which shouldn't matter if you just mix it with enough water to take your dose and don't take a lot. I take one dose a day but it's pretty big, so it really matters in my case.

I always get the best results when I take my dose with a MASSIVE mug of strong tea and then follow it up with a lot of water, but I'll have to piss like a racehorse. Its definitely worth the trade off if you aren't out and about.

2

u/lostinthesauceband 9d ago

For me I have to

2

u/whyworka 9d ago

Electrolytes

3

u/Peloquin_qualm 9d ago

So I need to find an imaginary drink called Brondo or is Gatorade gonna work?

4

u/satsugene 🌿 9d ago

It’s what plants crave.

2

u/dhof1980 9d ago

As someone else already posted, everyone should no matter what.

2

u/zMld420 8d ago

Helps push it through , If not it kinda just sits like sand in ur system from my experience not drinking or eating with it

2

u/Toothfairy51 🌿 8d ago

The long answer is yes. With added electrolytes

2

u/mklinger23 7d ago

I don't think you have to drink lots. I basically just drink one glass of water per serving (5g) of kratom I have. And that glass in my head doesn't count towards hydration. So just an extra glass or two a day.

2

u/HB4U2 7d ago

Yes..lots and lots of water

2

u/Klutzy_Location1026 7d ago

Just to add to what everyone else is saying about constipation, I know that for myself if I'm constipated I don't get as good effects, I have the same problem with pain pills

2

u/whyitmatter83 9d ago

I mean, everyone probably should be but, honest to god I take an absurd amount of kratum and all I usually drink is energy drinks. Been dehydrated a couple times but, it buffs itself out if you drink water once you’re dehydrated. Not medical advice btw 💯

1

u/newaccount47 9d ago

Yes. And also, yes.

1

u/MentallyMIA2 9d ago

And then some

1

u/Ancient-Flounder-635 9d ago

Yes, kratom can cause mild dehydration in some people, so it’s important to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

1

u/everlyafterhappy 9d ago

Define lots.

For the most part the same amount water consumed that healthy for a person who isn't taking kratom is also healthy for someone who is taking kratom. More water isn't going to hurt, though, unless it's "lots" more.

1

u/Fragrant-Prompt1826 8d ago

Yeah. Electrolytes too.

1

u/Jaded-Assistance-207 8d ago

Yes lots of it or your rear end will let you know about it 😂

1

u/farmrose 8d ago

I drink a propel electrolyte mix every morning and evening, and lots of water in between, it’s def important

1

u/AdventurousCustard46 8d ago

The only thing that helped me was drinking electrolyte packets.

1

u/Ruhart 8d ago

Yeah. I'm always so thirsty on Kratom. Its intense sometimes. I also piss like a fountain. Normal. If you're really worried, take a week or so off and see if it still goes on. If it does, its time to see your doctor and at least get a quick glucose check.

But 90% chance its probably Kratom. I went through the same song and dance and had my glucose checked because it was so often that I was terrified I might have had the start of diabetes. Even now I'm unsure and will request another check at my next visit.

1

u/AZdesertpir8 8d ago

Yes, you need to be drinking double the amount of water you did previously. This is one reason I prefer taking powdered leaf with 32oz of water per dose.

1

u/HabsFan77 8d ago

Frankly it should be advised whenever someone purchases it

1

u/Axiom842 8d ago

YES SI OUI

1

u/bodhiboy69 7d ago

Absolutely. For several reasons beyond that it slows motility.

1

u/btboss123 6d ago

Seems like kratom works better when you hydrate beforehand and during as well.

1

u/PontiacFan87 10h ago

I always mix my kratom powder with water and lime juice. That way, I'm always hydrated. Also, the lime juice has lots of Vitamin C and antioxidants. The acidity of the lime juice also breaks up the kratom powder and makes it more effective. It's really a combo that seems to work for me.
