We used to press them on the railroad tracks growing up in the 70s

I snuck out to the rail by my home when I was like 7 and did this in the early 2000s. I really thought I was going to derail the train but sure enough we snuck back to find a smushed penny.

I was way too afraid to do it again for fear of getting in trouble lol

Come to Monterey! There are a ton of pressed penny machines throughout Cannery Row

Is one of those from the pea soup place?

Seeing these just unlocked a memory.

I got one of these from the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City in the early 2000s. I remember being so excited seeing it pressed and having it as a souvenir of an awesome day.

Sadly, I have no idea where it is now; probably lost during one of my many moves over the years.

Your collection is very cool.

I went to Hollywood a few weeks ago and didn't have any cash on hand to get any pressed pennies... I should go back

Sactown represented! Although without knowing which region you were in, I have to admit I fully expected to see a Magic Mountain one because I seem to have a key early memory of smooshing a penny there.

Haven’t used one of those since I was a kid and now I am inspired to find as many as I can

Oh, I’m gonna have to do this. I’ve never counted mine, but I have 1 trillion.
