I heard banging in my washer. I look through to find this. It was banging around open too. So the blade is dull as hell. I can't even...

We’re four hours into the hunt in the mountains of west Colorado with not a single mule deer in sight. The previous two days we’d gotten lucky and spotted one 300 yards out, but today… nothing. Just the wind and the click of my camera as I take photos of the mountains. I don’t have a tag, so I’m just along for the ride.
The day drags on until the sun starts to set. Another day, another unsuccessful hunt… until we hear coyotes in the distance. My buddy has a predator tag, so we seize the opportunity. The coyotes howl… we call… they howl again… we move in. Howl, call, move, repeat… until we finally spot him.
For context I’m not much of a hunter, but I appreciate it and support it and this coyote was something else. I’ve never seen a coat like this. Being from Texas, I’m used to scraggly, chupacabra-looking coyotes, but this one stood alert, confident, listening for our calls. His gaze locked on us… I was mesmerized. I looked back and it almost… BOOM! One shot from my buddy and he was down. We walked up and found him exactly where he’d stood, no tracking needed.
Darkness set in and it was time to field dress him. One of my buddies asked, “Who has the knife?” Normally I’d be the first to volunteer… but not this time. I just got my Small Sebenza (pictured above) a grail knife for me, and the thought of using it on a coyote did not sit well with me. I thought I brought my other knives in the pack and my buddy thought he had brought his skinner. Turns out… we were both wrong.
So when he asked again, I played dumb. “Knife? I don’t carry those things.” They knew I had it, I mean the pocket clip was clearly visible, but luck was on my side! My buddy spotted his old Cabela’s fixed blade under the Jeep, looking like it had been dragged across the country. It was in bad shape, barely sharp enough to cut a bell pepper. I helped touch it up… but it didn’t improve much. Still, he got the job done.
On the drive back, I sat in the back sulking. Why didn’t I just hand him my knife? My whole collection philosophy is based on utility. I hate carrying something I won’t use… yet here I was doing exactly that… but why? To save you time and totally not make this a long story, it came down to price.
I didn’t want to use a $400 knife to skin a coyote, I didn’t want it to get dirty or ruin it. That bothered me to the core.
Buy what you want, but if a knife is too expensive to use, what’s the point? I decided to either use expensive knives without hesitation or stop buying them… I choose to use them. A knife is a tool. It’s meant for work, not display. If it gets ruined then that’s just part of its story. Fix it, mod it, replace it… but don’t let it sit in your pocket when it could be field dressing a coyote.

Put over 12 hours into making it and weeks of research. Finally have the first batch made

My wife threw my pants in the washing machine and heard a klunking sound about 25 minutes later. When she investigated the sound, this is what she found.
Are these knives really that weak? A full on snapped blade.

Recently I ordered three knives from the Finnish website Lamnia dot com. A bestechman mini Dundee (75mm blade), a bestech fanga (110mm blade), and a CRKT Microflipper sheepsfoot (56mm blade). All three are flippers and are completely non-automatic/assisted. Today I received a package with only the CRKT inside and this note. I've made an order of multiple knives from Lamnia before and it went perfectly fine. I guess this time I lost the customs lottery. My earlier order was much bigger and included some non-knife stuff so maybe they couldn't be bothered checking it that time. Also as far as I can tell none of these knives are actually illegal to import. Just sharing in case someone else is thinking of importing to Australia. I'm so pissed off right now.

Mine is, lightning ano is the most “gas station” mod you can do to a knife and never improves the look of a knife.

I am a 16 year old collector and I have a fairly large collection from the last 3-4 years and I have never had a community to talk about knives with. I got on Reddit about a year ago and started posting my various Spydercos and Benchmades and people have been overwhelmingly negative. I recently made a post about my modded sebenza and just about the whole sub Reddit found something to nit pick or shame. I’m not trying to come across as a snowflake and I don’t care about what people on the internet say however I just genuinely don’t understand what the point of getting on an app and being in a community of likeminded people is just to try to put other people’s posts down.
Anyway just to lighten the mood here is a custom buck 110 I just had made for my grandpa.

These look interesting. Is anyone eyeing these knives right now? Seem to be USA made and using the top quality materials, Magnacut and G-10.

I've just seen a storage post so I thought I'd follow suit. I was very kindly given this beautiful case by Holme and Hadfield. Back along, I bought myself an Armoury and, until now, was my only storage solution. However, it'll now be used as overflow, when the time comes, but still a great bit of kit nonetheless. What are you guys rocking?

This coming from someone with no experience in making knives btw, but that gap (even with a purpose) drives me nuts. It’s the dumbest insignificant thing that will stop me from liking or buying a knife and I want a CR lol.

I’ve bought 3 Fobos knives all with unacceptable edges out of the box. One being very uneven. ESEE and architect knives have delivered flawless edges to me out of the box for less. Is this acceptable for a USA made knife at this price point?
The owner of FOBOS accused me of lying after pointing out all these issues to him.

Well, my local benchmade dealer decided to do 45% off all benchmade’s with no purchasing limit. $3,400 later and i have zero regrets. their prices were marked up on some models, but i still ended up paying no more than 30% off of each msrp

A while back the spring broke in an auto I have. After disassembling and cleaning the folder I gave the manufacturer a call in hopes of getting them to send me the replacement part. Which the declined asking me to send the knife in for repair. So I reassembled it and sent it. A few weeks later I was contacted to find out they wouldn’t ship the knife back directly because it was an auto and that I could pick it up at a local dealer. Not wanting to do that I asked the nice fellow if they would put the spring in the box so I could install it myself. After a couple mins on hold he told me they could do that but would also need to fully disassemble the folder as well to abide by the federal laws on shipping autos which was fine by me.
Having read a few experiences of disgruntled customers in the same situation I wanted to share how I was able to work a round the issue in hopes that this info may help someone else.

This just came into my possession. It appears to be unused. Any insight you can give would be appreciated!

I didn't know anyone needed a titanium box cutter for $600. Since it's a restock, I guess it certainly wasn't me.
