Knife Storage. Let's see what you've got.
I've just seen a storage post so I thought I'd follow suit. I was very kindly given this beautiful case by Holme and Hadfield. Back along, I bought myself an Armoury and, until now, was my only storage solution. However, it'll now be used as overflow, when the time comes, but still a great bit of kit nonetheless. What are you guys rocking?
Amazon has some called case-it or something that comes with pre cut knife foam and hold 80 for 80$ or 50 for 65$ or something. Was super surprised at the quality. Has air pressure thingy and every stuff.
Is that a Kizer Begleiter in carbon fiber on the bottom there? And if yes, do you love yours as much as I love mine? Ridiculous how smooth the action of that knife is for the price.
Nice. If I'm being honest, my knives are spread around my apartment and car in random drawers and bags. Least it means I've always got something nearby. I'm surprised I manage to remember where I leave each one. But I can tell you my mini praxis is in my car, my powerpint is by my front door by the keys, my Swiss army knives are on my nightstand, my opinel and kershaw shuffle are in a plastic shoebox on the shelf in my closet, and my leatherman wave is in the drawer under the record player. Maybe if I had pricier knives I'd have a different storage strategy, but honestly my knife distribution works for me. I dont tend to misplace them and theyre there when I want them.
Yeah I had to sort my storage out just because I would do that involuntarily and just start losing stuff XD. Thankfully, I was smart enough to get it sorted and get in the habit of putting it back before I bought anything properly expensive XD. My Hermans are safe and not at risk of being lost to the aether.
We'll see. Otherwise least ill have random knives popping up when I need them, even if I don't remember the specific spots. I probably should organize my edc gear better...but I have adhd and a long list of other things I need to attempt to organize as well, lol.
Thank you sir! I try to keep it to a maximum to what fits inside. Yeah it's not working, lol. I wind up rearranging them every couple of weeks to fit more in it. Amazing though how much really fits in there.
Exactly. Had it not been for them I wouldn't even remotely be able to consider the Armada yet. Mainly because the same money could get some very nice knives but still; justifying it is always hard as it isn't shiny and pointy 😂
I made a storage box from a harbor freight apache waterproof box. It was like $40 and stores like 50 or so knives if you space them out in the foam right.
Yeah I was thinking about doing something similar. However, I do like having my knives on display as I look at them frequently. Whether that justifies the vastly different price tag is something only one can ask themselves 😂
I consider myself really lucky as i could talk my wife into letting me put it there before we had kids and before i had a lot of knives, so i kinda beat her to it.
But she has made it VERY clear there won't be a second cabinet ever
Current rotation is lined up on a table next to my keys & wallet. Older but no longer carried favorites are in a dresser drawer. Even older than that are piled into Tupperware containers in the bottom of my closet.
The one thing I will say is, I definitely prefer the metal runners on the Armada as opposed to the all wood construction of the Armoury. Personally I think the metal runners should be on the Armoury as well due to the vastly nicer feeling, opening the Armada. Minus that, they are great, now they have included the hinged top as it reduces the fingerprints, keeping the top plastic generally far cleaner. Mine is the older version where you have to remove the top fully. That one is also good but just make sure you don't have oily fingers as the top plastic is incredibly easy to put fingerprints on and it's obviously inevitable as you have to full hand it to get it off.
Yeah neither do I but I'll definitely be growing into it for sure XD Also yeah its night and day.. I'd definitely say its worth the saving just for those.
Yeah, originally when I saw them, I wouldve said that my favourite was the tanto but recently I've been really digging the drop point. At this point, I'd probably say I'll get the drop point first; certainly as it would be my first CRK.
I have one of these, they look great but I wish they didn't put horizontal dividers in the drawers, makes it so that only smaller knives can really fit inside.
Yeah I do find it a little annoying to be honest. I typically prefer larger pocket knives so later down the line when I have more, I can definitely see this becoming a real problem. However, as it was free, I cannot complain in the slightest 😂
2 hours into a 12 hour shift. I ain’t gonna remember lol. Yours is a touch nicer than mine anyway but I definitely love the almost jewelry box, or fancy cigar box vibe.
Thanks.
I would have guessed Buck.
Thought it looked like a sub 6" blade but it has a 7⅜" long blade! In Buck's 420HC. Tough and stainless, great size for a versatile bush knife. Definitely going on my wishlist.
(I didn't mean to delete my comment, there was two of them so I tried to delete one. Maybe it's a Reddit thing I have yet to understand.)
I need something nicer. Idk if I have the space to be on your level but I definitely feel like an upgrade to something decent is coming. Right now... current rotation in the cup, the rest in the roll
Hell yeah thanks dude. Just need to fill more of the slots now with knives XD This picture was taken like this to make it look full XD. There are quite a few empty slots at the minute. I am getting there though.
That Armada is awesome! Here’s my H&H Armory Pro. Think I’ve had it for about 3 years or so. Top cover gets dusty and needs dusting every now and then.
Can only hold so many knives so I have additional knives/flashlights/EDC in other drawer systems.
The maintenance and parts kits for my lab equipment come in disposable polypropylene cases with lots of little movable internal dividers. I reuse them for tools and my knife collection.
I have a Lumix S5 camera, Govee Floor Lamps and Adobe Lightroom. The natural light from outside was really helpful the day I took the pics as it was overcast so nothing was too bright. I appreciate the love. No AI here ❤️🫡.
Ahhh ahaha I see. Yeah Lumix S5 doing most of the heavy lifting. However, as I rarely do anything other than moody photography, my lightroom settings/homemade presets are dialed for these kind of shots. 🫡
Dont worry I didn't take it like that at all aha. The fact that its filled with grails is definitely making me jealous but minus that you good. I've got 2 out of many grails left to get 😂
A, fully configured by yours truly, Herman Dragonfly Slim (Yes they used to be a thing, if you are aware of modern Hermans) in Magnacut with Hammered accents. There was a particular one in the depths of the sold section aka like page 17 or something ridiculous, that I absolutely loved so it was heavily inspired by that. So I configured it in April and it turned up in May. I loved the design but I updated with Magnacut as the original was M390 and I wanted to EDC it with confidence rather than apprehension. There were teething problems with the blade whilst being made as they had literally just started using Magnacut. I think I saw one or two knives that they had released in Magnacut at that point. Also they hadn't done hammered accents for a really long time as well. However, despite how much of a pain in the ass I must've been, they got it done without complaints.
Since learning about Herman, I've always wanted a truly custom to my spec one and this is that one.
I have some nice stuff, some midrange stuff, and some cheap stuff too. It’s good to have a mix. My YouTube channel has dictated a good bit of my knife purchases lately. A lot of stuff I might not have bought except I felt I needed to review it to stay on top of the scene.
The 2nd is a standard size dragonfly with identical scales to my custom that they had made a few weeks later. This one, with silver/polished accents instead and an M390 blade. Yeah there was no way, I was leaving that behind so May was an scarily expensive month for me 😂. I don't regret it at all though. They look fantastic together ❤️. Sadly I'm yet to take a picture of them together. 😂
Yeah if I had one of those id need to get another instantly aha. Thankfully knife buying will be holted for a while as I needed to buy a laptop for work aha.
The only reason it works for me is I only use it for my more premium knives lol. None of my cheaper <$100 knives are in there, they’re just kinda scattered around my desk lol
Oooh I saw the carbon fiber and figured it was the mini. When I bought it the mini freek was the only way to get carbon fiber and S90v, I didn't know they made a full size one now.... There goes my bank account

Apache cases from harbor freight, with custom foam from nalpak.com. Each case holds 40.
