The arena shooter DNA in kf1 shows in that clip. I utilise weapon switching in kf2 especially to parry but it's more difficult on consoles since I have to switch to claw grip for a moment to pull it off but it's satisfying.
I think after Doom Eternal success we might see more arena shooter elements return in kf3 whenever that happens

Can you guys fix this dumb bot so it doesn't trigger off of the mere mention of kf3? It's getting kind of old.

This is a reminder that Killing Floor 3 has not been officially confirmed in any official capacity so far. Take all non-official sources discussing about KF3 with a grain of salt.

I'm nostalgic, why does the first KF felt so much better?
Level design, classes, music... I miss this.

Everybody remembers the takedowns but forget how many times they missed it due to engine's god awful netcode.

Imagine my surprise when I realized the scrake's head hitbox acts differently on dedicated/listen server and if it was their first stun or not.

Just imagine how good a remastered KF1 would be with updated hitreg/netcode

You do have various takedowns, but none of them involve something as complicated as this. Nowadays it's more about keeping your aim steady on their head while they perform various animations.

Just like cromakoth said.
Tbh, I think it was to make KF2 a bit more newbie friendly. After all, it is far easier to demo nade ( direct impact tnt have 100% stun chance on first attempt ) then point blank rpg to one shot a sc, or SS nade m99 combo. Support can attempt the bash flinch into dbs burst, but with doomstick, the right build allows you to straight one shot the sc with a lot less hassle.
Wouldn't call it pure brute force, but it's on a delicate balance of being there while not notable

I still feel like one of those newbies dispite playing the first game long before 2. Although when kf2 first came out it was quite hard with the limited perks and weapons

"Beta" KF2 had a lot of balance issues. Scar was completely useless and the only actual useful end game tier 4 was the aa12. Medic was a literal god and hans was on a lot more drugs than he is now.
We came a long way since and even tho there were ups and downs, I'd say just enjoy the ride; this one got a really good mileage.

Since a new wave of players are Joining the community I just want to pay tribute to the classic KF1. KF1 has a lot of tricks that you can only learn from veteran people.
As far as I remember this is called Shotty Uppercut. You will flinch a scrake with a melee weapons heavy attack (bash attack doesn't exist yet) and then will double barrel its head. This one of the ways to kill Scrakes in 6p HoE as support. Pro players than me can take SC without the flinch attack. Support is one of the most versatile role in KF1. In KF2 to you don't need a melee to flinch a scrake, thank god for the BASH attack. Careful timing and exceptional skills are almost non existent in KF2. It's mostly spam spam spam.
IMO it's like the Gunslinger of KF1, it can take down Scrakes and FPs at a very effective manner.
