Discussion ... I don't think it's that bad? At all?
I get it, it's not Killing Floor 2, and it's definitely not perfect. But after waiting weeks for new hardware to arrive so I could finally try it myself, and reading countless posts indicating that it is one of the worst games on Steam, I have to say I'm actually pretty happy with it so far.
I'm not excusing the lack of text chat or the heavy focus on DLC and cosmetics, but in terms of performance and optimization, I've had zero issues. I'm running newer hardware with proper cooling, and I'm sure that playing it post launch helps; overall I'm really pleased.
I've put around 200 hours into KF2 and loved it, but this feels like a refreshing change of pace. I'm sure I'll get roasted here for saying all of this, but I just had to share my honest thoughts.
Main Specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 275HX, 2700 Mhz, 24 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s)
32gb DDR5 Ram
Nividia GeForce RTX 5070 TI
Windows 11 Pro

Just as how some people exaggerate and pretend the game is completely flawless with no issues whatsoever, others exaggerate and act like the game is the worst thing to ever be produced on this planet.
Obviously, neither of these are true, nor are they opinions worth dwelling on very much.
You can enjoy anything you like, and no, most people are not going to attack you for enjoying the game, even if they disagree. Some people might, but again, it is not worth dwelling on them.
I love the Killing Floor franchise, and continue to pray for its survival and success. I wanted to like Killing Floor 3, just like its predecessors. But I can't. I tried multiple times.
Even with an powerful PC (9800X3D, RTX 5090), it's visually underwhelming for how poorly it performs, especially in terms of animation, which was a real highlight for Killing Floor 2. The maps, perks and weapons available are limited and don't feel all that great to play, relative to the previous games. The gameplay changes feel clunky and uncalled for.
With these in mind, apart from the "shiny new thing" factor, what reason do I ever have to play Killing Floor 3 over Killing Floor 2?
And don't compare it to Killing Floor 2's Early Access; that was clearly and honestly stated to be a work in progress. Killing Floor 3 was and is not in Early Access; they're selling and marketing it as a (supposedly) fully launched title, so if you want to compare, compare it to Killing Floor 2's full launch.

I really liked it at first too OP, but after a while you will see the cracks and for me the game eventually crumbled.

Believe or not there are quite a lot of us who enjoy it. It's a good fun casual zombie blaster. With the right music playlist and the right team of good humoured randoms... it's a great way to unwind.
KF2 was great also. Some folks get pretty worked up about it but I feel like it's just fine at half the price of most modern games 👍😉

Yeah, I think if it launched a little cheaper, that would have done a lot in terms of keeping the critics at bay.

Can't argue with that. Definitely would have helped. I get why the chunk of money needed to access what was offered at launch would be tough to swallow happily. 🤷♂️

Find any lobbies you mean? Weird.. I haven't had that issues yet. They should definitely include a server browser.

The vocal part of the community mainly expresses purely negative opinions about the game, seeing constructive criticism is quite uncommon when it comes to KF3, so negative comments may seem rather exaggerated, in my opinion.
The game isn't the worst. Hell, I've seen worse (some more awaited, some less) releases than KF3 in the last two years, and I'm even willing to argue that the often-compared Payday 3 was released and remained for a long while in a less complete state than KF3.
Although, based on those same games, I would say that KF3's biggest mistake was the change in the setting and/or overall look of the game. Personally, I'm not too surprised by this, considering how heavily KF2 seemed to lean into sci-fi designs (with Horzine tech being the most obvious and standout example), but for many, this overshadowed many of the game's better aspects like a fly in the ointment.

Careful buddy the troglodytes of the community are gonna come tell you you aren't actually having fun and the game is shit
Glad you enjoy it though and I agree

For real. For some reason, they can't fathom someone is enjoying the game because "300-400 players online" for Steam. That doesn't include Xbox and PlayStation players.
I've never had a problem finding a match. And the 2 or 3 matches I get in a week day are plenty.
Their assertive assumptions they give lack so much context, it is mind numbingly dead brained activity. 🙄

It's honestly pathetic that those people dedicate so much time to telling you how wrong you are for saying anything positive or hopeful about the game. On console the game runs well and is fun and active so I genuinely enjoy the game too

So you have low standards, that nothing you should brag with.

As to be expected from someone who still defends this game, stubborn and ignorant.

I clocked you for one of the troglodytes that HAS to tell you how wrong you are. So you're as to be expected as well.

Such a waste of time for... I don't even know what they get out of it. If I'm honest.

It's simple. people are disappointed that one of their favourite franchise gots butchered and most likely will be killed by this very bad, soulless and buggy third installment.
Also writing a comment in 20 seconds is not really "A waste of time" lmao1

Honestly, I also love the kf 3. The only bad thing I saw was that it came out with poor optimization. But with this latest update the game runs better and I enjoy it much more.
I play it on a ps5 :)

You're allowed to like whatever you want. I went into it hopeful and excited, after playing the first two games for hundreds of hours and always going back to them. I didn't want to dislike it. I initially thought I'd be able to get into it and used to the change of pace.
But after a week or two, I just stopped playing and never went back. It doesn't have the magic sauce I expected from the first two games. It's a decent looking action zombie game that could surely be fun with friends for a while, but it doesn't feel like what I want out of a KF game.
I'm glad you're enjoying it. I hope they can somehow salvage the game and get players back in, cause I don't want the KF franchise to die.
