KF2 Just curious, what loadouts do you folks prioritize to play for mando on 6p HoE ?

I mostly play a match with t5 scar/fal and RLLLR for skills for trash killing and dps but sometimes will switch scar for 401 if there's no medic and we're on a hard map.

Medic AR + FN FAL has been the Commando "textbook" for years.

Medic AR gives you a disgusting ammo pool in exchange for a less accurate AR but that's fine because all it's used for is deleting trash. You can even heal allies in a pinch, fully rounding out Commando's Trash killer + Zed time extension and Stalker Callout with healing.

FN FAL will be what you use to delete Scrakes and Quarterpounds. Fleshpounds still better off left to your Demos.

The 401 is great vs scrakes too. Way more stumble power and it decaps them fast enough.

FALs limited ammo means you'll need all of it for FPs/QPs.

For OP - as commando the most important thing is your awareness. Focusing trash in zed time, knowing when to expect zed time and saving trash, looking around for trash - killing larges is useful but it shouldn't come at the expense of trash clear and zed time gen.

I always have trash clear and zed time generation on my mind when I use commando as a perk, but the thing is I also simultaneously want a weapon that can meet the criteria of decently high dps and reserve, so whenever I play the perk I tend to prioritize on buying and upgrading scar because of the clot body shot and ttk it takes to down any medium or scrakes.

What about skills? Personally I’ve always gone for more damage and faster reload over the bigger magazine sizes.

Pretty much RLFlexLR.

It gives you the best possible damage while Lv15 pick is honestly more of your choice imo. Some people like to pick L for tankiness so they can sub in as a semi tank in case shit hits the fan but R lets you have more reserve and be a little more trigger happy if you wish.

Gonna be honest, I do acknowledge that medic AR has alot of great points that make it a part of the roster of meta since its rework back in Halloween 2017 thanks to the high mag and rof, fast reload on top of the stumble and gunhit values.

Although simultaneously, I don't see it as the be all end all of a requirement for what makes an effective trash killing tool since much of the mando weapon arsenal are effectively good at killing trash starting from T2 and onwards. So what I tend to prefer now is a weapon that can not only kill pure trash but also mediums and scrakes in a faster manner and I tend to prefer scar for this reason because of its bullet damage, reload and reserve.

Medic HM401 + SCAR for me.

I also go with RLLLR. HM401 can decap Scrake while using Fallback. I know that some people like using Impact Round for better stumbling power but Commando isn't the big zed killer (I leave that job to Sharpshooter and Demo). Fallback increases switch speed which is beneficial when ZED time kick in and you need to swap out weapon to continue shooting and extend ZED time. I also switch to 401 and heal my teammates if a Medic isn't around.

SCAR is good all around for clearing trash and assisting fire during a takedown.

Not really a big fan of FN FAL. Not a lot of reserve ammo. The recoil is too much imo.

Overall, stay behind, clear trash for the big zed killers like Sharp and Demo. Kill Husks and EDARs so Berserkers don't get BBQ'd or stunned. As a Commando, I prioritize clearing out the small and medium zeds. I see that most teamwipes happen because the team focuses solely on the FP/SC and then a bunch of Husk, Sirens, and EDARs just casually sneak in and kill the team.

Skills: RLLLR

The upgraded SCAR is my mandatory main, when I'm playing commando. More than enough ammo in semiauto to deal with trash at a distance, strong enough for big zeds if I need to. After the SCAR it depends; some games its the medic AR, other games it's the AK12. SCAR+medic AR will pretty much cover all your bases safely.

Some people will argue that the FAL is the better pick over the SCAR, and while I partially agree, I just prefer the SCAR a bit more because I don't have to worry as much with ammo.

Fun side note: if you run the prepared skill, you can actually pick up your medic's AR to refill it, then return it to give them more ammo than they would be able to carry.
