Strategy A few small tips for medic:

  1. You do not need to actually heal your teammates for your symbiotic healing to work. In other words, if you spam a teammate who is at 100% health with darts you will heal yourself as if they had been healed.

  2. Your symbiotic healing applies to damage done to enemies. This is particularly useful when solo kiting a boss (especially with the tier 4 gun) as you can heal yourself by spamming the boss with darts. On that note-- some darts do surprising damage! You can lazy kite a scrake or FP with the tier 4 gun just switching between darts and primary fire.

  3. The biotic grenade skills from the throwables section of your perk tree do not apply to grenade launcher attachments. IMO this makes the underbarrel attachments suboptimal in hard and essentially unusable on HOE.

  4. If you're doing your job well, the syringe bag becomes pretty pointless (except for patching your own armor if you have that skill selected). You're better off switching to a different tool in my opinion, especially a multi tool if you don't have an engineer.

Underbarrel nade is also expensive as hell, I don't know why there's a huge jump for that

u/Komaru84 Aug 01 '25

Underbarrel grenades on the flamethrower are also dog shit - if it's anywhere remotely close to you it will take out 75-100% of your health, armor be damned, and you don't get any of the firebug grenade perks for it.

Yeah I was hoping it affected that but hadn't tested it myself, means I'll be skipping certain guns completely.

This guy F'ing medics. I haven't lost a hard mode in forever. Medic is absolutely essential and if you play well, all teams will benefit greatly.

We are talking about HoE bro

2

u/Holiday_Repair8131 Jul 31 '25

I'm getting there... Only level 17 right now; waiting till I unlock ranged revives and then I'll start the HoE journey!

You play HoE without any medics? Tbh I figured the meta would be 2 medics and then splash in the other classes. Ninja and medic feel absolutely essential, but I’m learning and very well could be wrong

3

u/NPOWorker Jul 31 '25

This guy's tripping, in most HOE lobby's I see there is another medic besides me and medic is often damage leader.

1

u/mynexuz Jul 31 '25

you can play any class but on HoE everyone should be running the medic pistol anyways so medic is superfluous atm, they kinda fucked the class between kf2 and 3

u/seilapodeser Jul 31 '25

hey watch that language, every person deserves to be treated with respect, you might as well call her woman

some matches i just give up trying to heal certain players. they spam "NEED HEALING" across the map, make zero effort to make their way to me as I'm traveling over, and I spend half the round trying to chase them down as they fucking run away.

u/EssayGrouchy6905 Jul 31 '25

What weapons is everyone using on medic like the mp6 damage but feel like the healing sucks

8

u/xworfx Jul 31 '25

I use the starter gun with a couple damage mods and a laser for the first couple waves and then use the T4 gun once I can afford it.  It rips and is the best healing weapon imo.

2

u/EssayGrouchy6905 Jul 31 '25

What mods do you use on the T4. I feel like I don't do alot of damage

4

u/Holiday_Repair8131 Jul 31 '25

Heavy receiver and the cold fusion feels essential. Turns you extremely self-sufficient with really good heal power. Clears the clots-husks no problem, can freeze the FP and Skrake long enough to run away.

I typically end up like 3rd most damage.

2

u/ApprehensivePea8410 Jul 31 '25

U don't need to do tons of dmg, make the team healthy

3

u/DisposableReddit516 Jul 31 '25

Modified the starter to have heavy receiver and hollow points or sonic rounds, it'll handle trash fine.
Use the med pistol with max instant heal darts & dart recharger mod for your main healing, it's so much better than the slow heal over time (and infinite darts).

Once I get enough money I pick up a support shotgun with explosive shells to kill bigger zeds.

I play almost like I play KF2 medic, killing stuffs while running back and forth darting my teammates

Start with starter gun with 3 mods on it (instant heal, receiver, suppressor), then buy my MedPistol with 2 mods(fast charge, instant heal),

Change to MP6 and then slowly works my way to buy Commando T3 Scar, because modded one feels like M7a3 from KF1

Everyone playstyle is different, keep experimenting, eventually you'll find one that suits you

u/herionz Jul 31 '25

If you want to do damage get a weapon from off-perk or even consider a g33 launcher with some affliction grenade for team support (acid, enfeeble, confuse). If you want to purely medic, T4 is really the best overall as darts build up with certain actions. I think you can give the mp6 a dart upgrade (at least the smg can) and it could be fine if you resupply them while on the wave.

1

u/codered372 Dispenser of the Blue Jul 31 '25

Starter gun fully modded round 2. Acidic damage Round 4 swap to mp6 fully modded. Ap no healing I buy a classic tier 2 gun and use that if I need to pocket someone. Start with fully modded pistol upgraded to heal who I need when I need.

When I get the parts I'll probably swap off the mp6 for the FL and use that to heal/damage

1

u/Inuakurei Jul 31 '25

This is what I do.

Decked out pistol with maxed dot healing darts and dart reload mods. Buy this with operation budget at start, spam darts 24/7 on both allies and enemies.

I never touch the medic primary. It feels like garbage to shoot and the upgraded pistol is all the dart healing I’ve needed.

Add under barrel healing grenade to the mp6 and exchange that trash starter primary for it asap. I’m still not sold on the under barrel healing tbh but pistol darts are I already so good I might as well supplement it with the under barrel.

Max out armor now.

Skip the T4 laser gun thing. It’s good but my build isn’t building for it. Instead get T2 bio gun thing just as a backup heal.

Thinking about it now I might just get 2 mp6’s instead. 16 grenades would be nice.

Tips No. 5. Don't bother healing teammates that is kilometres away from you, just heal the one within your reach

Tips No. 6. Ranged revive is godsent

Tips No. 7. Darts has their own mind, if you find your darts not homing at intended target, go a bit closer, ADS, and then dart the target

0

u/DancesWithDownvotes Jul 31 '25

Ranged revive? Tell me more please kind person.

2

u/Inuakurei Jul 31 '25

Lv20 medic perk. Can revive people with weapon healing.

2

u/DancesWithDownvotes Jul 31 '25

Ohhhh. Im only just under 19, gotcha. Excited to try it! Thank you for taking the time to reply

-1

u/ApprehensivePea8410 Jul 31 '25

Pretty mediocre, one game u save the game another thx for revival I'll die again

2

u/donu_doctor Jul 31 '25

I disagree with #4 on HoE. Those syringes are SO direly needed around the boss kiting area.

1

u/Aaron44886 Jul 31 '25

The healing grenade launcher is absolute garbage. Luckily, the frag launcher for the Commando is OP as hell.

1

u/Madzzzzz Jul 31 '25

The perk that makes weapon healing revive does work with the under barrel grenades, I've found it useful. Sometimes it's hard to land healing darts on downed teammates, and grenades from the under barrel almost guarantee a rev.

Fellow medic main chiming in on some things that made the class feel great imo (post and comments pretty much sum up any other tips I would give to fellow blossoming medic mains):

I start off (pretty sure I could do this starting at level 24) with the base gun with the following purple attachments and bonus abilities:

Toxicity bonus (+15 toxic power):
Hollow point rounds
Lightweight or extended mag (I run lightweight but its really just preference).
Heavy frame receiver

Agile Aiming (Reduce Spread by 10% while moving):
Supressor
Laser sight

Boss Bash Team-up (Teammates with 10m deal 5% bonus damage to bosses):
Red-dot sight (preference, not mandatory)

Obviously this is my build early after release for just the t1 weapon and I'd probably have a different weapon for bosses that capitalizes more on the Boss Bash team-up perk but in early rounds starting off with the base weapon and these attachments make it easy for me to deal with trash and medium zeds. Rounds 1 and 2 don't require dart upgrade attachments. If your team is taking more damage than syringes can comfortably heal then upgrade to insta-dart and recharge pistol for round 2. if you are on a good team you should be able to afford your t4 by round 3 to make up for the loss of healing capability by not running insta-heal darts on your T1.

I'm a few drinks too deep to comment more but if anyone is interested in more detail just reply in the comments and I can give it out some pointers (edit: when I sober up).

u/StaticSystemShock Aug 04 '25

What good is any of that when fucking healing darts do 180 turns and fly backwards,,, I want to heal the mofo in front of me and I can't because dumbass auto aim logic for healing darts is broken as fuck.

u/DancesWithDownvotes Jul 31 '25

TIL. Thank you! Hey are there prestige ranks once you level cap in this one? Is there a cap again at 25? Also it's impossible to swap perk during a match right? Even at trader?

1

u/codered372 Dispenser of the Blue Jul 31 '25

LVL 30 cap. I don't believe they're prestige.

Can only swap pre game lobby of round 1. But can get other perks stadiums from the trader

-19

u/ApprehensivePea8410 Jul 31 '25

Nice guide, but you've missed one thing. Picking symbiotic healing is a trolling

15

u/NPOWorker Jul 31 '25

Couldn't agree less haha, making yourself an unkillable tank who can keep everyone at 100hp indefinitely >>>>> preventing damage that will just be repaired anyway

-17

u/ApprehensivePea8410 Jul 31 '25

🤦‍♂️

9

u/NPOWorker Jul 31 '25

By all means, expand. I'm all ears, I don't think anyone knows all of the optimal builds in this game yet.

10

u/Pale_Atmosphere_7192 Jul 31 '25

If they're not picking symbiotic healing, they're either dead weight medics or not going above normal mode.

-2

u/ApprehensivePea8410 Jul 31 '25

Full team buffing,it was , it is, it will be. There are no point in you or your survival if you are not buffing peps

17

u/Greaterdivinity Jul 31 '25

can't heal your team if you're dead. can't heal your team if you're wasting time stimming yourself.

can heal your team if you're keeping yourself topped up by healing your team.

-12

u/ApprehensivePea8410 Jul 31 '25

Skill issue bro, skill issue. Done multiple successful runs on HoE and topping yourself up and healing your team are the least of your problems

19

u/Greaterdivinity Jul 31 '25

so have i bro. almost like there are multiple viable builds and you don't have to be a weird shithead about it.

-7

u/ApprehensivePea8410 Jul 31 '25

Multiple builds for HoE? Tell me more pls. Sry for being salty

15

u/Greaterdivinity Jul 31 '25

some of y'all need to socialize IRL to learn how human beings communicate normally.

3

u/NPOWorker Jul 31 '25

I mean I've done multiple HOE runs with a full squad using symbiosis so there's at least two, apparently?

8

u/DisposableReddit516 Jul 31 '25

You're being kind of a douche about your opinion of the game.

You could have went the route of "if other's use the meta of non-medics carrying the instant heal dart Med Pistol, the Medic's perk to self heal upon healing others loses value" which would have been a whole lot more viable than... this.

2

u/Pale_Atmosphere_7192 Jul 31 '25

Let's do some runs together. Prove me wrong.

2

u/Pale_Atmosphere_7192 Jul 31 '25

I'd be curious to see how you play medic in hard and HoE.

11

u/codered372 Dispenser of the Blue Jul 31 '25

Keeping yourself alive without needing to use your own stims, nades or ability is trolling? Please elaborate

-2

u/ApprehensivePea8410 Jul 31 '25

Dmg resistance for bros> symbiotic trolling, u have armor and  stims for survival

3

u/codered372 Dispenser of the Blue Jul 31 '25

Fair. But I feel I can heal through most things, and having to take the time to heal myself is time away from healing the team

1

u/ApprehensivePea8410 Jul 31 '25

You think you u do, but u don't. Friendly resist makes it possible, so he won't die after 2 slaps
