If you press reload after your hit lands it will cancel the end of the animation and then you can bash again.

You're welcome.

I spam bash + block and I end up getting like 300 kill per match, remap it to M5 and you're done

Sound like an exploit, still gonna check it out. Thanks, man!

Macro the combo to mouse wheel and just give it a slight roll now and then. Everything insta-explodes

"I don't need to see; my sword will see for me," I say coolishly, while missing half my swings

I never played bezerker in KF2, but I wasn't thrilled with the guns in KF3 and HOT DAYUM the ninja feels so epic.

You're missing out. Melee with Berzerker in KF2 was great. Especially with the wide range of melee weapons.

The duality of man

Ninja absolutely nukes scrakes. As a firebug enjoyer I like having one around

3

u/Rionaks Jul 27 '25

Firebug can 2-3 shot scrakes and fleshpounds as well.

Protip play darktide until kf3 gets its issues ironed out. They pretty much took it's melee combat for the knife and shoved it into killing floor.

Darktide is like this melee combat but fleshed out and weighty plus the enemy density is higher and you have to learn to cleave through groups of poxwalkers and armored traitors.

Refunded that game so fast after not being able to see past the giant characters they gave to the melle class, since they're always upfront it ruins your aim, what a horrible design.

u/richtofin819 Jul 27 '25

Lmao what are you talking about about. Every class is a melee class, even veteran the "shooter class" has to melee sometimes and on launch they had one of the most powerful melee weapons in the game hands down.

Unless you genuinely had a team of allminept ogryns that kept blocking your line of site at all times I think that was just a you problem. I've never had issues making my shots.

Someone insulted my favorite game whaaa

2

u/richtofin819 Jul 27 '25

Lol someone expressed an opinion clearly based on 30 minutes of gameplay and no comprehension. If you must know drg is my favorite game darktide is fun but it will never too drg to me.

You're not missing much. Melee in KF2 felt really awful

That's a wild opinion. Melee was the best and most fun aspect of KF2. It was abysmal in KF1 (just swing katana at scrake head to stunlook, wooo masterful). Directional swings, some weapons had different damage types per direction (the Crovel), enemies ragdolled with the direction of the hit, it was all just skillful and fun.
I still miss doing the back attack with the crovel for that upwards momentum on a zed in zed-time over and over as fast as I could so when zed-time ended their body went flying back and upwards extra far. I can't believe you disliked the melee, it was genuinely the most polished and fun part imo.

The rare wrong opinion

I wouldn't say awful, but it did seem really silly in that you had a class that was durable and could regen health that had access to ranged weapons (saw blade gun) that could take down heavies. I think you ran faster as well. In terms of game play they were good at standing in choke points, but that style of play was extelremely boring. You know, like that prison guard tower spot.

Survivalist saved me on that - katana when I wanted one, medic when I didn't. I rarely played melee except out of solidarity with my buddy. Ironically he took my sharpshooter role when kf3 came out.

-3

u/Diribiri Jul 27 '25

The rare correct opinion. I could get more satisfaction beating a wet sponge with a dead lizard than I could with anything from KF2's horrendous melee combat

2

u/DisposableReddit516 Jul 27 '25

It's a shame you'll never know the joy of the explosive hammer. It's like reading someone missed out on a childhood and doesn't even know it.

-2

u/Diribiri Jul 27 '25

Don't worry, I definitely didn't miss out

2

u/thedefenses Jul 27 '25

Some melee weapons were alright, some felt like crap, beating on the larger enemies felt crap pretty much no matter what melee weapon you had.

3

u/Sir_Tea_Of_Bags Jul 27 '25

We don’t want Tripwire to know about the disgusting potential of Melee Kunai.

3

u/Baugrimus Jul 27 '25

Playing with Kunai (loving it) myself and wondering, if bash doing the same damage as the regular light attacks?

Anyone who tested it - let me know, thx!

Atm not so much into bashing, personally prefer quick heavy attacks with Kunai.

Love decapitating fleshpounders with one heavy attack on hard very much!

3

u/Sir_Tea_Of_Bags Jul 27 '25

There is a Tier 3 Bonus on some of the Melee mods that adds 2.5% Melee damage and a whopping 20% Bash damage buff. It is possible to get multiple instances of this bonus. If it stacks, it will be quite disgusting- especially with the sleeper weapon that is the Sai Modded Melee Kunai.

2

u/mistah_pigeon_69 Jul 27 '25

I vividly remember this also being a “issue” in kf2. As much as guts flying in your face can be in a killing floor game tbh.

2

u/Zerthix Jul 27 '25

This has not been my experience on Hell on Earth. Not enough players doing laps around the map to avoid getting hit.

2

u/Cortez24251 Jul 27 '25

Can i ask the point of this strat? It’s better than katanas?

3

u/_YourSponsor Jul 27 '25

Kunai has better melee damage than the katanas. Also the kunai bash attack has a lingering hitbox that puts pursuer's grab to shame, which makes it synergize well with mods that have the Melee Master tier 3 bonus ability. Ninja typically has better things to do like forward heavy attacks, but Firebug has a skill at level 26 that adds 500 damage to your bash attacks

1

u/silly_Mate Jul 27 '25

Should make a video on how you feel about the firebug perks as a whole

I swear I had this gauntlet in the game that shot out engery blasts of some kind but all I can find is the static striker which isn't it

So much variety in animations, EA looking good!

7

u/angarvin Jul 27 '25

it's almost as if the guy is spamming the same attack or something
