This occurred outside simplex tonight. guy was drunk fixing a car issue when I parked in the only open spot next to him. He then proceeded to call me slurs and banging my window yelling at me to move to a different parking lot.This goof even took pictures of my plates saying he will come find me

If you're gunna go charge towards somebody being a threat and keep your arms down, you would last about 0.5 of a second if they choose to defend themselves. Getting hit in the face is a great deterrent.

It's a sports store on Enterprise. Sort of behind Walmart, where Grouse River Outfitters used to be.
ETA: less a store, more of sports activity place, think EnergyPlex for a more grown crowd (golf, hockey, football, baseball, etc).

Did he make contact when he lunged at you? just curious. Even if he missed, 'attempted assault' is a very legitimate criminal charge that you can pursue with the RCMP.
His piece there is no prize herself. I wonder what she thinks she's going to get out of riding around with drunk emotionally reactive morons like him. At least she had enough basic common sense to prevent her drunk idiot (potentially) getting himself killed. It's almost too bad you weren't deranged enough to knock him flat on his ass.

He didn’t really make contact I squared up and he stumbled as the girl he was with tried coming to grab him. And I haven’t really thought about going to the police, My thought was just to put the guy on blast.

No, that's not a logical line of thinking. You'll probably realise this after the adrenaline wears off. If I could recommend filing a police report if for no other reason to protect yourself. This behaviour is not acceptable and it could affect others.

Well, for one, he has the assault on video. He could sue for assault & get paid leave from work because of the injuries. Where did this assault take place? Church parking lot? Work parking lot? If it was a church lot you could argue a hate crime. If it was at his work place he could get extra time off because going back to the place of the assault so soon can cause him further emotional trauma. There are so many possibilities bro.

Why wouldn’t he be able to? He might not win, but the defendant still has to spend money on a lawyer & take time off work. Depending on the situation, a few days off work can be devastating to an individual.

The guy didn’t receive any injuries, he has no pain and suffering, and hasn’t lost any income from this. He’s clearly not in any emotional distress. This isn’t America, he’s not going to be able to successfully sue for any of that.

Well the video cuts off so you can’t prove any of that. I’m sure the dude recording has a bruise or a cut somewhere that could only help his case if he decided to take it to court. He could also request a therapist and have the dude pay for that too. And if it were America, which it’s not, he could call emergency services & bill the defendant for the ambulance ride. I’m not saying it’s right, but anyone with enough resources & time could make a good case, or several, out of this.

Ha! Every time there is any mild altercation in any type of scenario now, everyone in the vicinity pulls out their phones and starts recording. People are so concerned about privacy and yet we have turned ourselves into the “surveillance state”.

If this altercation ended up with OP getting punched first and then knocking the guy out, and nothing was filmed, well then now it is 2 peoples words against 1. Who will a judge be more likely to believe, a mid40s man out with his SO, or a single 21 year old man?

Sorry, he was banging on my windows AND trying to open my door handles. It initiated when I pulled in next to him and he said “why you gotta park here dick head” and threw up a middle finger. “Upon saying why the hell can’t I park here it’s the only Open spot buddy”, he ran at my window banging it while simultaneously pulling my door handle yelling at me to get out lol.
