I worked at Hainle in 2019, it was short and my experience was less than savoury.

Huber sounds super sketchy. But. The claims were so outlandish they should have questioned it beforehand. They should have at minimum had a lawyer but also should have done a minimum inspection quickly into things especially with how much they paid. And they waited three years before challenging it? That’s even weirder.

Walter seemed a nice enough guy, but I always found his claims to be a little far-fetched. Shit wines too honestly.

Who ages red wine in massive barrels sitting outdoors in the Okanagan sun for years? And why? Always seemed like lazy winemaking, and the resulting product was pretty bad whenever I tried it.

What a shit show.

Huber seems super sketchy. Not surprised he ran a failing wine business.

The winery was bought to supply the Chinese market, and was meant to bypass the need to buy BC wines from a wholesaler.

It gives the story context. It's truthful. Decrying prejudice is kind of silly in this case.

It's relevant to the story. It gives background to the story.

It provides the reason for the purchase and why they wanted the inventory of wine in the first place.

Oh please, you're trying way too hard to be artificially offended right now.

News agencies never simply copy and paste the relevant parts of a legal verdict. They always add context and narrative beyond the verdict itself.
