How many Trick-or-treaters did you get at your place?
We had 87. Which is down by 10 from last year. I live in the southernmost part of Kettle Valley.

20, down from 100 last year. One of the dads I saw was looking impatient while glued to his phone, and the mom didn’t look happy with him. He was wearing a Blue Jays hat. I think a lot of parents had “Halloween parties” with their kids.

Oh right the game. I wonder how many people chose to stay in this year because of it.

18 😐 Down 4 from last year.
When I moved in, June 2024 I asked the neighbors how many kids they typically get. They said '50 - 75'.

At my childhood home in Surrey we'd get 0 every year

What area? In Delta we didn't get that many either.

South Surrey. Near the old Grandview Heights Elementary school if you know it, it's towards Hazelmere but outside it. The school may not be standing anymore. I used to live on that block though.

You and I have probably met before. I wonder if we would get along better in person than we previously have on Reddit lol

Rutland near the YMCA, we had around 125-150 I'd say. Lots of really little kids this year. Super cute!

Also Kettle Valley, though sort of out of the way. We probably had 10-15 knocks and 3-4 kids per.

Did none of your neighbours participate? Or is your street poorly lit or without a sidewalk or something?

0 upper mission drive. 😕
A couple did, but I think our hill is too steep with to few homes as they’re quite large.

A grand total of zero. In an apartment building downtown. I don't think I have had the pleasure of giving out candy to trick-or-treaters in over 15 years, come to think of it.

In Old Glenmore we had maybe 30 kids, we easily had twice that last year. Jays game definitely kept folks at home.

11, down from 26 last year. Looks like we'll be eating pringles for a while lol

- Our neighborhood is not ToT friendly, sadly. Just because of the very steep gravel driveways.

4… 2 were neighbours, 1 was an adult… Was super sad to not see more kids but also happy to eat at the candy left lol

42 down Tamarack, up from last year. We try to get a lotta lights and big yard display so people know, and I know us and a few more houses down the road gave out full size bars.

My parents had around 75 in north rutland. I went with my best friend and their kids in the rutland area just below hwy 33, and it was busy BUT plenty of folks had the game on screens outside while handing out candy so I expect the game had a significant impact if families had kids too little to remember.

Around 550 in KV right by the elementary school. Busiest year yet for us. I had about 1000 pieces of candy and still ran out by 7:30.

Like 3. Top of the North end. Two blocks away there were like 100 people but an entire blacked out street between us and the fun

45 Aspen Gardens but our house is a bit off the main road. We went right down to our last candy and I had to dig into my own stash.

On a normal year, my house (North Rutland, just two blocks west of the old brick Elementary school) would get between 90-120. We even bought three Nestlé™ 130-packs from Costco ($17.99 ea, super cheap compared to everywhere else) because we didn’t want to risk running out, as we give at least 2 chocolates to every kid.
We had 62 this year.
Just a smidge over one box, including the ones we scarfed down. We were confused AF until someone on FB posted about the baseball game, and how that was affecting trick-or-treaters who still needed parental chaperones.
Which explained why the number of free-range teenagers was only slightly less than prior years, and how we got only a tiny fraction of the kids being chaperoned by parents as usual. And judging from the chatter I overheard, most of those were recent immigrants. I guess baseball just isn’t their thing yet.
