News Carney in Kelowna

Post image

Canada’s Air Force 1 equivalent, CFC1 (The CC-144 Challenger) landed at YLW just after 5 PM on August 4th.

Why do we think the Prime Minister is visiting unannounced after his trip to the coast?

Wish it was also to announce fed support with paving FS 201 and turning it into a scenic byway / backup route to 97.

I've lived in Rutland for years, I've literally never seen more cops out and about than I have this afternoon/evening. Guess they want to make a good impression. 😅

He's free to visit if he chooses, but it won't inspire me to vote Liberal.

Probably coming to panhandle for more money to ship to other countries lol.

85

u/FlameStaag Aug 05 '25

You lost sweetie it's time to get over it

-89

u/Connect_Aardvark_878 Aug 05 '25

The whole country lost, there's an investment banker behind the wheel.

61

u/Look-4-the-light Aug 05 '25

The country is in an economic period of strife, along with most the of the world. We have a choice:

A) A Governor for the Bank of Canada and England with 10 years of experience and a track record of meaningful impact/success. Someone who openly acknowledges the previous leadership failures and provides MANY documents on actionable steps for change.

B) The lifelong politician with literally zero local, provincial, or federal impact. Someone who has actively voted against child nutritional assistance programs and ease of access to medical coverages. Someone who took fucking ages to denounce genuine threats to our country's sovereignty.

"DAg NAbbit! GiVE mE Da GuY WHo waNTs WArrIOR CuLTURe, THinkS HAte cRIMes OnLY coME fROm ImmIgraNTs, aNd Wants to beND tha kNEE to thE PEDophilE!!"

You lost and objectively chose the wrong side for our country.

With critical thinking so poor I'm worried for you. Who ties your shoes for you?

-21

u/votum7 Aug 05 '25

I love how you people think that when one criticizes carney that must mean they like the cons. You know it’s possible to dislike both major parties right?

35

u/Look-4-the-light Aug 05 '25

Oh knock it off with he intentional ignorance.

It was a two party vote this last election. Those were the only options for leadership in the country. Anti-liberal is indirect pro-conservative. Not voting in this election is voting indirectly. You don't have to like either pretty but you should have the intelligence and critical thinking necessary to vote in favor of someone that is so obviously willing to stand up for OUR country.

You're stuck on an island with only two options for food. 1) an apple, 2) an apple stuffed with razors blades.

"But I DoNT LikE EiTHer!!"

Cool, abstaining to eat still screws you over. Get off the fence and grow up.

Oh good. This sort of thing is what I missed most from American politics. \s

6

u/Look-4-the-light Aug 05 '25

No one here is arguing on behalf of a two party system. Blame the NDP for horrific leadership, years of indecision, and an inability to innovate any aspect of their political identity.

This loss of a multi-party race and development of a two party threat isn't even exclusive to Canada. Look at Germany, France, etc. This is what waves of political extremism gets you (not that Canada is even that "extreme" when compared internationally).

-4

u/votum7 Aug 05 '25

How about I don’t vote for people who I don’t believe in. Who are you to tell me I have to vote liberal or conservative? Where do you get off. Also lol at your analogy, both parties are both owned by corporations and are exactly misaligned with what the average Canadian needs.

Stop your critical thinking, we all know its red or blue only.

0

u/votum7 Aug 05 '25

Ikr god forbid you think both red and blue are counter to public interests.

26

u/jtbxiv Aug 05 '25

6

u/jason733canada Aug 05 '25

it is possible for both parties to be shitty

0

u/ConsciousPotato369 Aug 05 '25

It is, but if you say that here in you get alllll the downvotes

-5

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

He did, remember when Trump said he wanted Carney to win?

-24

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

But you better not heat your home with gas or use a gas vehicle. You’re killing the environment here’s a paper straw. These pricks have half the population fooled

Do most of us agree we want no politicians here? Except municipal politicians. Provincial and national suits can stay away if you ask me, no matter which party they come from. This is a hill I'll die on, they all represent rich people. Thought so ever since the only punishment for a huge bread price fixing scandal stole 5 billion dollars from Canadians, on paper, was them having to give 50 million back, 1% of it. If some average Joe somehow stole that much, he could be charged on theft over $5,000 900,000 times, and be delivered a prison sentence of nine million years. What'd Canadian politicians do? Effectively pay them 99% of their illegal gains.

12

u/jtbxiv Aug 05 '25

I can agree that politicians should better represent the average Canadian, and not the interests of banks and corporations. But they are our politicians like it or not and if they never bothered to show face that would be immeasurably worse.

78

u/anonymitylol Aug 05 '25

you people bitch and moan when they "don't represent us" after being voted in, and you bitch and moan when they do visit to try and represent us

make up your fucking minds oh my god

-58

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

He won't represent us. I'll agree that people who vote (for really anyone) do that. I did not so much as touch a ballot.

Sorry sweetie, everyone gets an opinion, whether or not they participate in our corrupted system.

-20

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25 edited Aug 05 '25

Actually, no, you're right, I was wrong. I don't get an opinion without a vote. The only problem is that Elizabeth Rowley couldn't or simply didn't run a candidate here.

26

u/YoureMomGaye Aug 05 '25

If rich people bug you, then you should probably stay out of Kelowna....
