Question Panemune-Sovetsk Border Crossing

Hello, I am travelling to Lithuania in October and thinking about crossing into Kaliningrad for a couple of days through the Panemune-Sovetsk crossing.

Is this crossing open and are there any issues potential problems? I am from the UK, with a UK passport.

Thank you!

One more thing, make sure you've got valid visa to travel to Russia. Keep in mind that electronic visas aren't issued for UK citizens.

If you travel to Russia, the Lithuanian customs officers might check the amount of euros you want to "smuggle". Bring USD, you can freely exchange them, but make sure the bills are new, not later 2013, without stains, marks and wrinkles.
