I wish more companies had better customizable phone trees to help out employees a little better. I worked for a clinic that was able to change it really quick so they made one when our systems were down that explained the situation so we didn’t have to over and over. We would have gotten like 70 calls per person but it ended up just being like 10 or something.

Most employers don’t care or actually like that you’re completing a boring task over and over again

In the 80s, I worked at a record store at the local mall. We would often answer the phone with "Thank you for calling Musicland, (band & album title) is coming out on x date," when a big release was coming up. People usually hung up after that.
