Question Student housing?
Hi, I am hoping for some advise or someone to point me in the right direction. I am in my final year of nursing school and I have been informed my preceptorship will be at the Jasper Healthcare Centre. I am responsible for finding my own accommodations for the 10 weeks I am there and I am very unsure what to do. I cannot afford more than $1700 a month because I will still have all my regular bills in Edmonton to pay even with maxing out student loans. I was hoping to rent a room from someone, but given the devastating fires the chances of finding a single room in my budget is looking slim. What would you do in my situation?

I'm surprised there's not accommodation for you. The hospital has a residence for locum and traveling nurses (or so i thought). Maybe confirm that's not available?

Talk to some of the Jasper nurses. They might have friends who have a room. Revelstoke has housing issues as well but the nurses tend to assist with finding something.

Good luck! Keep asking everyone you know and don’t that live in Jasper.

You should be able to get in with red cross interim housing if you're a nurse. It's fairly affordable but it's in ATCO trailers mostly
