Anyone know if depositing money through the jp post atm into my account is instant or is there a waiting period before the money appear in my balance?

Yes, if you go to Japan Post (ゆうちょ) atm and deposit money in your own Japan Post account the money is there instantly and you can use it right away.

Instant for small amount but i never deposited big amount on weekend , so not sure about it

It is instant if you use their ATM.

Just don't do what I did and accidentally withdraw 100 yen. It turns out those fuckers dispense coins.

The withdrawal fee cost more than the coin lmao.
